If he walks because of lack of success, I'd hope he gets to live the full Brett Deledio experience afterwards.

Nah.
I believe that it is in him to do.
I also think hitting it as a lofty goal would be awesome to watch and bring him well into Brownlow contention. But if we are setting that as an expectation regardless of the contract amount we are just setting up disappointment.
the amount of players who averaged 30 & 1 over the 24 season was zero.
Nah, as in there is a difference to aspiring to it and setting it as an expectation.Nah?
He should be in the ballpark of that if he wants a massive pay day.
He’s an elite midfielder.Nah, as in there is a difference to aspiring to it and setting it as an expectation.
He's currently at 27.74 and .5 a game. In terms of average disposals there are 15 players across the league in front of him.
When you factor goals into that there are only 8 of those with a better goal per game average.
In terms of ball park, he is in it.
He puts himself in the position to get to a a goal per game. 20 really should be the aim. That's within his capability.Nah, as in there is a difference to aspiring to it and setting it as an expectation.

and he was gleaming talking about it.He has a lot of leverage and he'd be crazy to not use it to get the contract that he wants. He only has this window as an elite footballer. This contract sets up the rest of his life.
But I feel like he's really made it clear that his priority is to stay. He's done everything short of signing on the line.
He did a bloody national news press appearance to announce that he plans to stay, and from a guy who doesn't do a lot of media.
He's a potential top 5 player in the competition, hitting his peak entering a FA year and someone who would be wined, dined and welcomed by 17 other clubs if he gave them as much as a sniff.and he was gleaming talking about it.
The guys a zero chance to leave. We'd have to go winless for it to be a question.
It's just a big doubt monster floating around these parts.
Deledio vs Cotchin, they were drafted three years apart, geez it has a whole lot to do with luck doesn’t it..If he walks because of lack of success, I'd hope he gets to live the full Brett Deledio experience afterwards.

Yes that's a very logical response and true but to be equally true I have more doubt about myself staying off dim sims for a another two months {in September I swore to myself I would have a break from dim sims until February}, and as Scotty from Star Trek would say in his Scottish accent, "I don't know if I can do it captain, I can't control it"!He's a potential top 5 player in the competition, hitting his peak entering a FA year and someone who would be wined, dined and welcomed by 17 other clubs if he gave them as much as a sniff.
It's nice that he said nice things but until he's signed the doubts and risks are completely valid.
“Ya canna change the laws of physics captain!”Yes that's a very logical response and true but to be equally true I have more doubt about myself staying off dim sims for a another two months {in September I swore to myself I would have a break from dim sims until February}, and as Scotty from Star Trek would say in his Scottish accent, "I don't know if I can do it captain, I can't control it"!
We don’t have the power.“Ya canna change the laws of physics captain!”
