He puts himself in the position to get to a a goal per game. 20 really should be the aim. That's within his capability.

Do that and it gets him his money as close to the best in the comp and underpins our improvement which would lead him to stay.

He has a lot of leverage and he'd be crazy to not use it to get the contract that he wants. He only has this window as an elite footballer. This contract sets up the rest of his life.

But I feel like he's really made it clear that his priority is to stay. He's done everything short of signing on the line.

He did a bloody national news press appearance to announce that he plans to stay, and from a guy who doesn't do a lot of media.

The guys a zero chance to leave. We'd have to go winless for it to be a question.

It's just a big doubt monster floating around these parts.

He's a potential top 5 player in the competition, hitting his peak entering a FA year and someone who would be wined, dined and welcomed by 17 other clubs if he gave them as much as a sniff.

Yes that's a very logical response and true but to be equally true I have more doubt about myself staying off dim sims for a another two months {in September I swore to myself I would have a break from dim sims until February}, and as Scotty from Star Trek would say in his Scottish accent, "I don't know if I can do it captain, I can't control it"!
