Re: Mallee Football League Part 2
I think i will be difficult to repeat 2005 considering Beulah beat Woomelang in 2005. 2006 however, great game played by Ouyen to win the flag against the odds. Could be a repeat this year maybe but we'll have to wait until 5pm on Saturday I reckon. Agree...
Re: Mallee Football League Part 2
not sure (particularly with unders) but I'll have a bit of a go hook foot
Seniors B&F: Ash Clugston (may be hard for him but would be in the votes every week I'd say)
Runner Up: Luke Nathan, Tom Hallam or Col Durie
2nds B&F: Scott Clarke (maybe not the...
Re: Mallee Football League Part 2
The deadline for clearances was June 30th. Just wondering if any clubs managed to secure any last minute recruits? I heard Beulah may have a couple in the pipeline. Can anyone confirm this?
Re: Mallee Football League Part 2
Agreed- mad if you didn'y play him- great player who has been with them on and off for a few years now. Would imagine he is also pretty fit.
Sonny an interesting one- could be what Ouyen need but could also be detrimental to the club. Will have to wait and...
Re: Mallee Football League Part 2
Yeah heard Simon was going to be playing this weekend. Is there a place where you can view the teams on the internet or was that on the radio?
Interesting the differeing opinions in the top 4. For me it is:
WU
Ouyen
Sea Lake
Beulah
Hopetoun (bit of a in-house...
Re: Mallee Football League Part 2
I'm not sure how accurate this is but I did notice that you are from Jinderra so you're probably in the know. Why have they changed their minds- don't suppose it had something to do with the 10-12 hours in a car each week!?
Not sure about Jeparit- heard...
Re: Mallee Football League Part 2
Congratulations on 'meeting' him- must have been a delightful experience for you! When is your next date? Are you thinking of a longterm relationship or is just a 'let's see how it goes' thing?
Ferrier goes well IMO
Josh Warren may not be a superstar but is definitely a good honest battler who would be a walk up starter in any mallee league side. Not sure where that comment came from Loogie!
Also does the Tim Hill from Colbo also have a brother named Sam Hill? He kicked 85 goals for Colbo last year and...
Seems like everyone is doubting my sources- the Sea Lake Tiger boys must be telling a few fibs to me if what rooster says is true. Tigers might be right up there again. Also sounds like a lot of speculation about the Adelaide players going back to Walpy/Underbool. Haven't heard much about...
Blake gone, Rowett gone, Weekley's going, T.Summerhayes going, Barry's x 2 going, Giddings going, Domaille going, TC's been getting offered the big $$ from all round the state so he's prob going too! Witney has been asked to play rugby in QLD- Coz he just smashes blokes!
Not from around this league so may not be my place to comment but if you look beyond Nully you might find the following Birchip blokes have left to a club not far up the road in the last 5 or more years- admittedly may not have been living in Birchip:
Dedini's x 3
Al Ferrier
Koopsy
Ank
Rhino
Picko
Darky Parky was a handy player for the tigers a few years back- suffered a pretty bad injury since then and hasn't played a lot of footy. Tigers will need everyone they can get from what I hear. Losing heaps and not getting the players they thought they were!!!
So far the coaches in Mallee League are:
Walpe/Und: ??? Not Chris Vorwerk???
Ouyen: Danny O'Shannesy taking it on again
Hopetoun: ???
Beulah: Dale Shannon
Sea Lake Tige: Phil Cox + Joe Summerhayes
Woomelang Lasc: Todd Beasy
Jeparit/Rain: ???
Can anyone confirm or elaborate on any of these...
Not sure- I have heard mixed news on them but sounds like they enjoy it but they are tired of the travel- fair enough, some of them have been doing it for 3 years, Whale and chicken for 2. Will be interesting to hear what happens!!!
Thanks Droughtsy,
Is there much talk about what the other clubs will be doing next year- coaches/players etc? Will Vorwerk continue coaching Underbool? Are the Adelaide boys going to continue to travel? Will the Weekley boys stay on at Sea Lake in 09?
Yes they may need more than 4 or 5 judging their form in 2008. Sounds like they are taking a step in the right direction though. Does anyone have any names for these 5 players. Is one of them Bryce Scott who used to play at Sea Lake?
