Wow, that is a pretty good effort from Mundulla, it must be a real footy mad town. If WBFL was amateur too and the players didnt get paid I think Heywood would very competitive too.
I think the higher levels you go up though the harder it is for the small towns to compete with the big towns with...
If what you are saying is true, where are those juniors now??
I agree with what you are saying but my point is the size of Heywood town. Heywood juniors are pretty good mainly due that they are all still in school. Once they finish (age 19) most end up leaving for work or study at the bigger...
Heywood is 20km inland from Portland with a population of approx 1000 people. If you do a simple subtraction equation you will see why it is difficult to have a competitive team year in year out. for example,
Of the 1000 people who live in Heywood, lets assume half a female.
1000 - 500 = 500...
Fair call, but I did write that before the weeknds games. It is easy to say otherwise after the fact, but I take it on board.
What is evident is how close and unpredictable the finals has and will be.
I totaly agree with you.
What I dont understand though is why the last few pages of this thread are people not giving constructive comments for the club to go fwd next year. Brad Sinclair has gone and 2010 is behind us now, we all get that so stop boring us with it (shavedham). I can only...

The only way we can get recruits from outside our region to train is to change the last training night from Thursday to Friday.
This way, the recruits can overnight and play Saturday, then return home on Sunday. If we continue to train Thursday nights it is impossible for the recruits to be at...
You sound a little bitter shaved ham.
Why don't you just embrace and celebrate Heywoods season?.
Even though we just failed to qualify for finals, it has been a ground breaking season for the club. All our members will agree with this.
This year was baby steps in transforming the clubs losing...
when the dust settles this season it will read that heywood fc has won 8 games. That in itself is a great effort by the club.
Even though it has been a tough year for all concerned, the club is in a better position than what it was 12 months ago.
As for the Melbourne recruits, we would be all...
Nope, I very much doubt it. Newspapers always take a small amount of truth and spin it in to a big story. Big Mal quoted saying he is working with the club for a solution for the rest of the year and the paper has pretty much assumed the rest. Makes for better reading to sell more papers.
Ps I...
Firstly, the club need to make a statement regarding the current issue.
Where the hell is Shane Evans the CEO?????
Secondly, the treasurer Mary-Ann King needs to explain to the committee and the members how she cocked up the budget.
Thirdly, after they apologise to everyone at the club, they...
Well done shaved ham. Your a genius.
I wrote that at the start of the season before I knew Heywood would be broke by round 14.
I feel for the players, the coach and the supporters who will not get to see the boys contest this years finals because of some serious miscalculations by the finance...
Got the low down from the boys. You do realise that most of the committee have sons playing in the team. This is seriously not Sinclair the coach, so please stop saying that. I have only brought up what has come to light over the last few weeks. From what I have been told, the club will be...
This is not Sinclair.
The club is seriously out of money. This week I doubt you will see any of the Melb recruits. No smokescreens here. I guess we will see how the club go without the Melb 4????.
Maybe you should play, we'll need your passion.
The coach is on the verge of walking and the Melbourne recruits are not far off too. Apparently the club are having financial difficulties.
Players have not received match payments either.
What is worse, there is still 2 months of football to go. :thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd::confused:
Not concerned,
One game is for charity and gun footballers of the last 20 years.
And the other is a bunch of country footballers.
More importantly, there will be references to Heywood fc during the broadcast. So, from a HFNC perspective, we are not fazed but actually happy that there will be...
The late mail from Nelso is Brad Fuller will miss with a calf and Big Mal has done his hammy and will be sidelined for a month. Can the Heywood inner sanctum confirm this???? :thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd:
