Yeah it's definitely the biggest area for improvement in Urq's game. He's had some injuries and didn't know if he was any good until he starting showing some good from in the Champs. There's scope to get better for him.
If he can become a reliable kick, execute his role and look to give the ball...
I could understand the old man wanting them to play together, but it doesn't usually work out in the end.
Is this the * 8 year master plan? Finish down the bottom couple this year, draft Willem and attempt to trade for Zane end of 2025 or 2026? But not sure the Demons F1 and F2 would be all that...
Sure he can shank a few, but so does Wardlaw. The difference is they'll work hard to correct the mistake.
I don't think he'll be as a bad a kick as people think. Sounds like he's come to the game a little later, so he may not have the same ingrained kicking technique/habits of some others. It's...
Nope he's supremely talented and other teams like Dees, Hawks and Bombers were desperate to get him.
Just a reminder his national champs final - 22 disp, 10 marks, 15 score involvements, 6 score assists and kicked 4.2.
If he gets anywhere close to that at AFL level and can expand into the middle...
Talking about applying the same trade strategy next year has nothing to do with the preseason hype this year.
Even if we have a few early wins to start with I won't be getting ahead of myself because we've done that before (Clarko's first year) and still won three games.
I don't think holding...
We didn't do him any favours, we threw him as the 2nd key forward as a 19 year old for a taste of AFL action.
At least next year he'll be the 3rd or 4th tall alongside Larkey, Darling and Zurhaar at stages.
I wouldn't want to be matched up on him or Curtis if we get the ball in there more this year.
I think we'll make the same trade again with our 2026 R1 for a 2025 R1 with something coming back to bank points for Harris and McCartney in 2026 (sounds like a Presidential ticket).
Then that gives us the option to push one of our 2025 R2 picks into into 2026 to help match points on them too.
Hmm so Cats have had the Bruhn (alledged sexual assault), Stengle (drunk nightclub) and this most recent assault report and what scrutiny have they had on them from the AFL media?
Lol. Geez that's not much extra marketing earnings if $127,693 is shared among 30 listed players from next year.
Clearly our Tier 1 players would be Garner and Riddell - Base payment of $95,336 ($109,760 in 2025) plus ASA.
You'd think Shierlaw, Birch, Sheerin, Bresnahan, Mia King and Randall...
Yep it's obviously easy if you've got a Mon Conti type that you just know will be a gun, but after say the first couple it seemed very much either draft for positional need or take the highest upside if the players are close on talent.
That's true, it's a possibility and I did think about that element of awkwardness of coaching players you played with.
She appears to set high standards as captain, so I don't think respect would be an issue from the players.
The list might be a bit more of a blank canvas for the next coach who...
Too hard to mention everyone worthy of mentioning.

There would always be feedback between captain and coach as to what is working or not and what to instruct out on the ground. Looked like she was part of the coaches box when she was injured and Crock was on the boundary.
I don't think it'll be a forced transition, it might be more like...
Yep they haven't played much AFL footy between them. Arch looks a lock but he'll struggle on the quicker types, not for lack of trying. That's why Goater with his speed might be so helpful back there.
That view will change when he adds the size and fitness required for AFL level and he shows what he can do fully.
If he can translate anything near his bog performance in the champs final we've got a special talent.
He needs to get more touches but he was clearly playing injured and we didn't...
We could probably use an elite speed medium defender to put on the Watson types (Goater? Hardemann?) and a quality interceptor and distributor off the half back long term, but some pieces are coming into place.
If some of these guys above can solve those issues then that's great, but otherwise...
A few points...
His brother stayed at Port for 8 years, could've come back earlier to a Vic club. That showed a bit of loyalty.
I think being in a side on the up or a good finals teams probably helps give them a reason to stay..
Zane is from Country Victoria, so whilst he might like the thought...
Thanks for the effort but I for one found this thoroughly underwhelming, poorly written and derivative. 1/5 stars.
Did not discuss every player on the list and left off everyone's favourite players Jy, LMac and Stephens.
Merry Christmas.
Clubs like Cats or Pies can probably take that risk every year because they have more revenue.
Looks like we tried to get that cricketer recently but they chose somewhere else.
