Would you swing it for 2025 mate?
I reckon 3 years is too soon. Happy for Jy to hold onto it for now.

Trengove was drafted end of 2009 and start of 2012 was made co-captain.

So we would have to make Harry captain or co-captain now to copy what the Demons did and for that reason I reckon Jy goes it alone in 2025 and then if we want to co-captain both in 2026 that may work, before Sheez takes the reigns solo in 2027.

what level can he achieve in 2025? The sky is the limit for this kid.
A few better thinkers around him would be fantastic, going to be a crazy good midfield in a few years. Will really need to capitalise by getting a couple more quality talls. Possibly some of the mids that get pushed out of the guts could fill the crafty fwd spot we have been missing since LT left?

If he's playing mid/fwd from the get go next year, this'll be the first season he'll have to deal with taggers.

I think opposition teams are gonna see Harry's ball use, goal assists and ability to hit the scoreboard himself as a bigger threat than what LDU offers.

And he'll just have to deal with it. But that also means that LDU, Wardlaw, Simpkin, Powell, Phillips and others have gotta fill their boots if there's no attention on them.

He’ll start playing deep forward and kicking goals in that case

On paper, this team should eventually develop to a point where teams wring their hands in despair over our midfield unit. Tag Sheezel (the most damaging kick in the team and potentially our best accumulator too), and LDU, Wardlaw and McKercher will hopefully cut you up. Tag LDU, the aforementioned lads and Sheezel are left to go head to head with, and hopefully beat, whoever they're on at a given time.

I really want this above scenario to become reality soon. Half of them are already there, and it sounds like McKercher's in good nick at the moment, so that bodes well. I'm concerned about Wardlaw's concussion stuff and potential disillusionment from the fact that he's won a solitary game of football in a 2-year AFL career, but he's also my favourite of the lot and has talent coming out of his ears, so yknow.

I just hope these connections can be forged and a bit of fortune can fall our way before something bad comes along to impede our trajectory, as is customary for this club. Wins are rolled gold right now. I don't want to hear about 2028 or some shit like that, I want stuff to start falling into place pronto.

The other blokes you mentioned who aren't as revered on here (Simpkin, Powell, Phillips) can contribute too by blistering through pre-season and doing what they can to mitigate their weaknesses. There's really no excuses for the midfield to dish up the garbage that we're so used to. None at all

I'd be making him a VC next year with a plan to take over in 2026 as sole captain. I think he is ready for it, he talks about the path foward and the process and it's clear his vision is aligned with Clarko in this respect.

If he said this offseason, he is ready for it, then I'd be giving it to him and am sure the players vote would also show this vote of confidence in him.

We're seriously slack in the media department.

Less than a minute for LDU’s first bnf and 40 seconds Sheezel who won the aflpa best young player.
That's just the Pies glazing Daicos, talk about over indulgent. A 1 minute highlight reel is more than adequate, 11 minutes should be reserved for career highlights when a player retires or reaches a significant milestone.

FWIW Richmond's highlights package for Dusty's 300th game was 1 minute 35 seconds if ever there was a player and occasion that could justify a 10 minute highlight package that was it.

I'd personally love to see the club post some high-quality, longer-form highlight videos of Sheezel. He would have enough highlights to easily fill 5+ minutes for 2023 and 2024 respectively.

When you've got a player of his calibre, why not glaze away?

Yeah, we are different.

I'd love to see 10 minutes of Sheezel.

So why didn’t you just say “I’d love to see 10 minutes of Sheezel like the Pies did with Daicos”. Rather than have a crack at the media department saying they are seriously slack.
Nah, I stand by it. I worked as Video Producer at an AFL club for almost half a decade. Would've taken them less than an hour. I know for a fact it's slack. Thanks though.

I daresay the Women’s team has been the primary focus of content.

And when you worked as a video producer at an AFL club did you have carte blanche to decide how long each video should be or did you do what you were asked? Your labelling your fellow video producers as slack when you don't even know what their brief was.

Heath set the bar pretty high.

And you only have to look at most other clubs to understand the benchmarks for content.

I don't think you're being harsh, although can sympathise the club is probably underresourced.

Harry plays 50 games next year.. might play 500 this kid
I'd say not humanly possible but I wouldn't put it past him.
