    VFL 2024 Sandringham Zebras

I'm with SS. This is an attempt to create a stronger alignment. I absolutely think it's worth trialling for three years to see if we start to attract more wannabe AFL players. We certainly should be trying absolutely everything to make Sandy stronger, and this is worth a shot. It's not...

    Autopsy Round 14, 2024: Brisbane v St.Kilda

It might come down to our game v the Crows in Adelaide. I'm flying over, guys, so I think I've got us covered. Have been to 12 interstate games and have only seen us beat Gold Coast in their first 2 years and a horrendous WC team last year. I was at the Robbie Gray game. I've got this, team.

Difficult to have a settled backline for most of the season and then lose three of them in one go. We've looked very disorganised down there. Don't know that Caminiti has ever played back at Sandy, let alone AFL. Schoenmaker not ready - not defensive enough, especially in that first Q. Wilkie...

Seeing as he looked a little tired and struggled in the first half last week, I wonder if they might make Wilson the sub. Feel like it could be any of he, Jones or Ross.

Only problem is Brissie will be 8 goals 1 by then.

Don't know what happened with the Byrnes decision. Would have been a certain score. Zones dragged us back into the game. Turned a one-paced midfield into something different. Byrnes good in the last as well.

    VFL 2024 Sandringham Zebras

Jones in the middle has made a big difference this quarter. His pace is good, and he's making Crouch look better.

    VFL 2024 Sandringham Zebras

I didn't watch the first half. GCS looked a ten-goal better team that quarter. Their midfield was lightning fast while we had Crouch and Matteas lumbering around. I agree with thekizzler - Crouch looks to be limping when he tries to sprint. Why is he playing?! I understand why he hasn't been...

    Autopsy Round 12, 2024: West Coast v St.Kilda - Optus Stadium - Saturday 1st June, 4.35pm AEST

Was out last night. Read the first few pages of this thread and fast forwarded to 3QT. I note a lot of comments on here about us bombing long to King in the first three Qs, but there was a patch there half way through the last where we absolutely owned them and kicked it long three times in a...

Andrew Gaff to earn a recall and tear us a new one. Ruckman Matt Flynn is on the verge of making his club debut after returning from a tendon injury in the WAFL, with the former Greater Western Sydney big man a potential inclusion this week. The Eagles are also confident speedy...

1 list spot open in the MSD, what position do we need to fill the most or do we pick best available or do we pick a mature aged player.

"Hall looks bound for the Saints, who opted not to pick Old Brighton defender Max Benier for Sandringham at the weekend, meaning he is ineligible to be selected in the mid-season draft after playing only two VFL games."...

    Game Day Round 11, 2024: Melbourne v St.Kilda - MCG - Sunday 26th May, 3.20pm AEST

I was disappointed with the changes, not so much because of the personnel but because I reckon we're still unbalanced. We need more mids. We dropped a mid (Zones), forward (Poo) and back (Paton) and brought in a mid, forward and back. You can argue Poo is playing a bit of midfield minutes, but...

Ah yes. Good to see someone's paying attention. I tell ya, Henry getting back to that early season form would make a big difference by itself. I also think Ross' plan was to rotate him through the mids, which would be very helpful.

    Preview Round 11, 2024: Melbourne v St.Kilda - MCG - Sunday 26th May, 3.20pm AEST

The toll from the Collingwood game was catastrophic and changed the course of our season. We were already carrying a lot of injured players at that point, and we have less depth than last year. So those three broke the camel's back (i think the three were actually Heny Wood and Windy (susp.)).

Agreed. We desperately need a small forward in the team. Not a small mid/HBF who we put in the forward line; an actual small forward.

St Kilda legend Nick Riewoldt criticises Max King’s lack of forward craft as form slumps The Saints are struggling to both score and win, and a former champion says their issues start with a lack of forward cohesion, starting with the form of their spearhead, Max King. St Kilda champion Nick...

    List Mgmt. 2024 List Mgmt

To be an RFA he has to be in the top 25% of earners on the Saints list. I doubt he's in that bracket b/c his position in the side was quite uncertain until a couple of years ago, so we would have signed him relatively cheaply. Almost certainly a UFA.

Agreed! I was down the other end and thought he was a lot further out. I was right where the consecutive "not 15" decisions were made. After the game, we went for a drink in the foyer of the fancy hotel nearby. Place was packed with Hawks fans. The umpires walked in to go up to their rooms and...

    Autopsy Round 8, 2024: St.Kilda v North Melbourne

Don't mind this theory, but unfortunately the Hawks knocked off the Eagles by 120 points last year and then rolled into Marvel and knocked us off the next week.

    Preview Round 8, 2024: St.Kilda v North Melbourne - Marvel Stadium, Saturday 4 May, 4.35pm AEST

I have been thinking all week that last week's game from a Port point of view was similar to our game against Collingwood - good win, but came at a huge price. They lost SPP and Aliir Aliir and had Rozee on one leg last night against a fired up Adelaide. Their goal kicking is also a huge problem.

I've watched a bit of Essendon. Gresh is fit and getting a lot of the ball, and he's even kicked a few nice goals, but his turnovers are comical. I'm not missing him one bit.
