Dunno what people expected Joyce to do.
He's a below average player who had an unexpected callup.
He saw the game out ok and played about as well as you could hope. The coughups were very costly. He was a strong body that lacked any adeptness.
Footy's such a fickle game.
This morning it's all about how's anyone going to stop us and all of a sudden a reality check to what are we going to do .
I was thinking about this in the context of how clubs pay overs to get players on their past record because they fill a 'need' whereas the real...
Definitely I don't see Beecken in the role at this point , but I do see him getting a game somewhere over the next 12 months. But as imo he's the most talented of the options down there they'd look at it.
It was just interesting to me that we had a bit of talk about needing a KPP player prior...
Sometimes you never know what you've got until you throw them in.
Most of the time they're just not up to it but this year we've found a couple.
I really like what I've seen of Beecken. ZZ is an unknown quantity but probably started the year off in the same boat as Morris. More or less.
All depends on what the situation is with Payne doesn't it.
I think Joyce is the only viable choice if Payne's out for a while.
But not presuming anything as yet . I think we all remember the last time Payne had foot 'soreness' and then we tried to bring him back which didn't work out.
He's...
Joyce will do a workmanlike job but puts a bit more pressure on Harris and Froggy.
ZZ has promise as Irel says but probably a couple of years away from us finding out whether he's up to it.
Anyway we got hold of Joyce for precisely this turn of events. At least he's a strong mature body and...
I thought it was only my grandchildren who needed to be told enough is enough.
Re Payne if we thought it could be 8 weeks that's the last thing we'd be telling anyone now. At this point fake news.
But not happy with the diagnosis of foot 'soreness' . That could mean anything. IIRC he was off...
I remember Lynchy playing many games/periods of games on ball for Fitzroy in the early '90's. He didn't move to full time forward till 1993. Roosy still maintains he was acknowledged by the players as the best player in the game for a time at Fitzroy. Hence the unprecedented 10 year contract the...
When Lynchy played full back for Fizroy he was very much a feared opponent. Some of his battles with Lockett were legendary contests at the time. So he had a lot on Logan physically.
Which is quite incredible seeing he made his name as a full back and then an on baller at Fitzroy and then was debilitated for around 5 years with chronic fatigue.
Fwiiw I think Mark Mickan was the best pure ruckman to play for us and IIRC won an AA when at the Bears which was somewhat of an achievement when you look at the top rucks in the AFL at the time
One ACL with full recovery in someone as diligent to his preparation as Will should be no problem.
Same knee again is a problem. Doedee did his the second time on the opposite knee which is why we ticked him off.
Reports are Will is fitter and a lot stronger than last year so what he needs now...
