Surely Broadford cannot enter the league which is considered a fairly strong league in country vic after a year in recess.
I feel they could be worse off than Maryborough in terms of competitiveness.
Smillie huge early on. Very clean below his knees. Faded out late in the game though.
Dattoli kept Northern in it and was great up forward played some time on all in the 2nd half.
Moraes had some moments but largely didn’t impress many others better.
Johnson was good with ball in hand and...
Have to agree there, going back in the years gone by too.
Sexton at Blighty was a gun, Wild, Saunders - Katty, Dodd, Wren - Tungamah, Hargraves, Ednie - Rennie, Cowan Richardson - Waaia, May Deni Rovers, Minogue & Riordans Katandra, Marx, Osbourne - Dookie, N. Howden Katunga, McMillian - Strathy.
Question for you all,
Who is the best player in the Picola League right now?
Lets also go with the Last 5 years, who is the best player to play in the league?
That would be a good 3 Division setup and have those that win the Div 2 & 3 be promoted and those teams who finish last be relegated.
Would allow clubs to be fair more competitive in the area.
Tungamah has announced a few signings from Mul where one of the co-coaches played last year.
Katty posted 4 new signings from Spotswood unsure of the link but they sound like decent players with some having interleague/VFL experience
Katandra just had a lot of re-signings and lost a couple...
Haven't heard that one, but I havent heard much at all from Waaia in terms of keeping everyone, picking up some new players, etc..
Only know of Osborne retiring.
Katty don't replace them with some quality they would be in the bottom 4, there 2s weren't great this year as well.
Katandra having Smith coach is great for them, he would have some connections as has played some good standard of footy.
Any word on other top 4 teams recruits for Waaia and...
Did a look around at some of the social media pages for the clubs to see any ins/outs few signings amongst the league.
Tungamah - seemed to resign a heap with new co-coaches Ferguson and Johns, picked up a couple from Mul and other local leagues look like will be strong again.
Waaia- nothing...
Any recruiting news for 2023 as yet floating about?
Tongala going to keep the fly in players from the NT in 2023?
Mul lost anyone from the flag?
Does Cobram just continue with the homegrown players or look to bring in some players from outside?
Any other signings at Tat after their appointment of Barnard?
Other Shepp area-based clubs seem quite
Bears only a few trickled in from minor leagues of previous players at the club.
Mooroopna and Swans have nothing at all, and United haven't revealed a coach so I can't expect too much news...
Reading on the Goulburn Valley page that Shepp Bears have regained some of their players from the year they won the flag.
From Katandra - Jonty Wardle and Luke Smith potentially. Plus Katandra's coach Herbert has signed on at Bears.
With Waaia's Ash Holland mentioned also as a potential return...
Any names at this stage to join Tunga and Waaia?
Strathy and Katty were on the older side know of some of the players departing those sides?
Katunga have some good youth which helps and they keep them and top up a little have shown they can match it really with the top 4 in finals.
Waaia too good for Tungamah. Holland standout.
Silly Season now begins, any whispers out there already?
How many clubs will be having new coaches in 2023?
