I feel like something should go back otherwise it is overs - 13, 30 and Serong for Barrass is too much. Serong is a really nice development piece I'd take in a heartbeat. I looked at your pick in the fifties, could be an option but perhaps too low. If you had a pick in the 30's, it would...
13, Serong and 30 for Barrass and 23?
WCE get a defender to develop. Serong may not mind going to WA with his brother there. I'd value at him at around pick 30 to 40 as he has a lot of potential and performed well at VFL level this year.
Feel so sad for Todd. At his best, he is a critical player for our structure and key part of our forward line. But the knocks and injuries have definitely dented his confidence this year, not to mention his health. Doesn't deserve to go out like this but don't see another way forward other than...
I think Barnett is a shoe in to leave WC. Crows would be all over him. If we didn't get Sweet, I'd be all for it for him to battle Visentini to take Soldo's spot.
If we were serious about our season, we'd try something different, try to inject some kind of energy into the squad. This is what it should be against GWS. Could be terrible but at least there might be some excitement instead of the same old spuds.
B- Bergman, Rat, BZT
HB - Farrell, Allir...
I agree personally but if you think clubs aren't demanding this or more, you're kidding yourself. I'm not keen to split our first pick and I hope that doesn't happen. I see this as a medium that may seem like a little overpay but will satisfy the other clubs and gets in the players we want. 37...
Bulldogs are the only team with the picks but perhaps not the need. 10, F2 and Smith for Oliver? Who says no?
Melbourne would end up with 3 first rounders. Could package them up for Reid or take the three best talks and set their spine up for next decade hopefully
Clurey and Future 3rd for Sweet
Hayes and 43 for BZT
Future 2nd (25 - 35) and 37 for Ratugolea
No idea what future picks we have available but I want to keep 1st at all costs.
I'm a bit puzzled by this pick too. Interested to see what the plan is. Numerous posters have pointed it out but yeah, he ain't a small forward. Mid with occasional rotating into HFF, but if we're expecting him to be better in that role than Evans, Rioli, McEntee, or even to the same standard as...
Well Jonas being suspended makes this easy. Pasini or Clurey in for Jonas. Maybe both if Mackenzie needs a rest. Rioli for Evans. Dixon and/or Marshall to come in if fit too. Lord would be unlucky after some good signs against melb.
I would hope port are seriously looking at him. Is a better option than lycett, Hayes or teakle and allows us to keep developing visentini and most likely draft a project
Pretty obvious what will happen. They'll try to go like for like:
Dumont for Duursma, Lord for Marshall, and one of Bonner/Williams/Burgoyne for Jonas.
Only Marshall deserves to be in.
I'd absolutely offer Williams a 2 yr contract. He's been very solid in defence, we need good depth and he'd be very cheap. 2 x 350 would be a good piece of business for us. And he hasn't reached his ceiling either. Still young and building so it could potentially look like a bargain in a few years
Technically Boak is an emergency. Has it been confirmed he'll be the tactical sub? Burgers is a good in but not to replace McKenzie. We have CLurey and Pasini in the wings and we spent a preseason talking Pas up too so why so small?
Marshall, Burton, and Houston have easily become my favourite players. They're just so reliable now, trust them with the ball, they consistently make good decisions. Absolute guns who will just get the job done week in, week out
Bergman, Sinn, and Mead all taking a step forward next year would bring a big change to our midfield. All bring something a little different but cohesively would really improve the depth and talent on both inside and outside. Duurs in the same boat too. If they struggle, our midfield is going to...
I would take any of Brand, Walker, Stein, or Magden as insurance if we can't find an answer in the draft. Obviously if they've been delisted, they have obvious deficiencies. We'd only need them to come in and play a role when injuries strike. It's not always gonna work ala Skinner but you gotta...
Best thing to do is for Port to get involved with GWS numerous picks. 8 + future third for 12 and 19.
12, 19 and future first (likely to be between 8 - 16) for JHF. Three top twenty picks, with a possible top ten.
I think we should try and get involved with a pick swap with GWS to get JHF. Give 8 and future 3rd to GWS for 12 and 19.
12, 19 and future 1st to North. Three top twenty picks for JHF is far better than they would get next year.
I wouldn’t be opposed to Voss. A quality small defender who can negate and win the ball? Sign me up. DBJ has massively regressed. Houston should be mid/wing/hf. Bonner isn’t a defender. Jones isn’t ready yet, and may be a midfielder in 2 years.
There are a few building blocks in place. You have a potentially great midfield in 3 years time - Simpkin, JHF, Powell, Phillips, LDU, Stephenson. Your KPPs definitely need the most attention. Hit the draft and go tall. It’ll hurt but you just need to keep sweeping the rubbish out. Xerri, Perez...
