Do not want. Luko is exactly what you don't want given his massive cost. He's not a winner. He's an edge player, that finishes nicely, but doesn't really win contests and make you better. We need mentally hardened Port Adelaide style footballers that give their all and win contests. He's definitely not that type. He's exactly the type that Michael Wilson picture warns you about. I've watched him a bunch this year and his bad regularly outweighs his good. Get him for a 4th rounder and you're considering it, but pick #2s aren't walking out the door for what he is actually worth.
so he is pretty much the sterotype Port recruit of the Ken era.

Thats what worries me.

Luko has the potential to be a star at the right club in the right system.

GC and Port (under Ken) are not that.

Under Carr or Hardwick though...

I don't think he'll make it, but forcing DBJ forward is a good start I should have said. I don't think it will be sustained.
I have to agree - to a degree! It is still early days, so jury is still out on Williams, but it has been a great start for him. All the negatives that people might have on him, ie speed, fitness, field kicking, defensive pressure, tackling etc, have so far been dispelled. If he keeps this up, he gets a nice new contract.

Ps ... Dylan has worked hard on his game, has taken all the advice I have given as his buddy, and run with it. I for one am very proud of him!:p

I wonder what change they are looking for?

They could extend it out to 5 or 6 years worth of first rounders to even it out.

Or they could consider players traded in their first 3 years to be the equivalent of the round they were picked in.

I.e. trading in JHF counts as using a 1st rounder in that 4 year period.

I don't think their should be any reactivation on 3rd rounders on and little if any on 2nd rounders either.

CLUBS will not be able to replace a retired player at the AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft without a completed deed of release form, as the AFL tightens its inactive player rules.

The mid-season draft will be held on Wednesday, May 31, between rounds 11 and 12, with clubs again to make their selections via an online format and the draft to be conducted out of the AFL's Review Centre.

Does the non selection of Mitch have something to do with his contract status?

Could it be:

A. We know he's leaving so choosing to develop Lord/others over him.
B. Still hoping to keep him, hiding him from having a big day in front of a decimated West Coast is an attempt to kept their contract offer down.
C. Nothing decided yet, nothing to see, leaving him in the Magoos to work on his confidence in front of goal. While playing Lord with Teakle helps cover the ruck

Personally I'd be amazed if he doesn't know where he's going to be next year.

I'd absolutely offer Williams a 2 yr contract. He's been very solid in defence, we need good depth and he'd be very cheap. 2 x 350 would be a good piece of business for us. And he hasn't reached his ceiling either. Still young and building so it could potentially look like a bargain in a few years

D. His kicking for goal continues to be crappy.

Freo need another forward
And now with Jackson they prob don’t need Darcy as much
And they have quite a few tall backs

Port would be hard pressed to either of them out of Freo and I’m not sure if MG would bring that much draft value.

Either would be a pretty handy pickups though.

I would hope we aren't giving a contract if he can't play. But who knows it will probably be a rookie contact

Would take Raz on a Rookie deal for good money.

Looks like a 13 year old boy still, so why not?

Who gonna be bigger by the end of the year, Raz or Action Jackson?
