Neale and Mundy really disappointing today. Neither of them are clean like their usual selfs and it’s cost us a few times now which really hurts when they’re surrounded by young boys. Jones has struggled, but let’s just hope he gets into it in the second half... what’s really frustrating is it...

I know a bit of the kid (he used to play his footy and basketball in my local area). He is an incredible athlete (both pace and jump) and I think he got injured a bit last year, so must've put in some decent rehab work from that.

I think realistically S.Hill (hopefully) and Hamling will come in. Somebody mentioned speaking to Ross on the training thread and him mentioning Crowden as a good chance for an early debut, so I'd hope that comes as well. Anything more than 3 changes I'd say is quite unlikely and we'll wait...

I think he’s been a bit hesitant, last year he was so good because he said “I’m the best stoppage player here, and I’m going to get the ball.” He looks like he’s 2nd guessing himself before he goes at the footy.

Running so many short runs, I'd say they're all pretty close together. Is the winner the fastest in the last 100? Or first 100? Tough race to decide haha!

The problem with this is that even if he does have a breakout year, the best key forwards struggle for consistency in these games. If tabs plays a good 'bad game' (ie, his bad weeks aren't that bad) hes probably not going to score well. (Might be halving contests where hes outnumbered and etc.)...

Would agree with this, but would add against Essendon (last round of last year) he only had 13 disposals and turned the whole game around in that last quarter. 20 Harley disposals is enough to really open a game up and can make a big difference to the result of a match.

Whenever somebody is half competitive against Sandy it comes across as a win though, easily the most underrated ruck in the comp (and i know he's highly rated) but he just destroys EVERYONE he comes up against week after week (and not just for hitouts)

Well if I had the choice of another Hamling, or him, I'd take him easy. They're different players and it'd be wrong to choose one over the other, irrespective of the players around them. Such a good intercepting player is probably a bit harder to come by though than a good lockdown defender.

I wouldn't call it 3rd in line, but yes he'd probably get the 3rd best forward. His role would be different to theirs though, and about intercepting/helping out as opposed to shutting down their opponent.

The way the games going, it doesn't really seem like we need a 3rd ruck just in case. Bachar Houli rucked ... I think Blakely/Fyfe/Mundy/Logue/Hughes could all play a similar sort of roll where they simply compete, and play as an extra midfielder.

We struggle whenever Fyfe's taken out of CHF and/or Tabs is higher up the ground. There's nobody left to kick too ... I guess that's the downside of playing the 1 tall. I wouldn't be too worried about a lot that's happened though, as first game back there's always going to be fumbles/skill...
