I'm based in QLD and just asked my girlfriend to name all players past/present she could, this was her list:
- Jonathon Brown
- Patrick Dangerfield
- Buddy Franklin
- Big Fev
- Aker... Akersomething
- The guy that punches people
- The Honeybadger
- Another black guy who might start with R
- The...
Any idea of the chances of each of those players actually leaving? I think I'd be most keen on Gaff, Dahlhaus, Sloane in that order, but I've read (likely only on here) that Gaff is happy west. Dahlhaus we may be able to shake loose if the dogs are having issues as it seems?
B: Taylor | Tuohy
M: Blicavs | Selwood | Ablett
F: Hawkins | Dangerfield
Duncan | Thurlow | Cockatoo
- Selwood, Duncan, Ablett, Dangerfield pretty much pick themselves, especially with Ablett and Dangerfield being so effective up forward
- With Hawkins not being double/triple teamed I think...
Having moved house I'm about to take the plunge and workout from home, I've got nearly all the equipment I need and have found some decent stuff of what I don't already have.
My question is how much to sell the remainder of my membership for? I don't really see it something that loses value...

Perfect! Thanks mate.
Got down to 13:44 tonight which is getting closer to what I think my true reading would be. Although my route is a touch under the 3km so I'll have to start at the neighbours mailbox from now on
How do you guys go about measuring out your distances when not on the track/oval? I've just used google maps but not entirely sure if that'd be too accurate
After a fair while off I got a 14:30 last week. I'm thinking that I'll drop a couple minutes off that pretty quickly though, before...
Just wondering what everyone here does when they fall sick? I've had a bit of a cold and just feeling sluggish, is it best to push on through, lighten the load, or have a couple days off and give it a miss all together?
I thought this thread was going to be a best 22 of the best performances from each player all in the one team. I don't watch nearly enough footy to have a crack at it myself but could be a decent way to pass the time for others. So just picking rounds for an example Enright (round 12), Lonergan...
Just recently joined a new gym for the couple months I'm off uni and made a few notes, not on the people who seemed fairly normal but the gym itself annoyed me.
- Music is way too loud, I don't know anyone there so not looking to chat anyway but I doubt I could hold a conversation very well...
For people saying Blicavs should be moved into defense next season, what kind of role do you see him playing? We've had plenty of critics of the 4 talls approach this year, and with Henderson, Taylor, and Kolo being back there, as well as potentially Lonergan going around again depending on who...
Apologies as this has no doubt been asked. But is the flagpole a better predictor for the GF only, or all finals?
Forecast has North beating Adelaide in week 2 of finals, but flagpole rates Adelaide the higher team. So when does flagpole kick in?
cptkirk, cheers for the reply mate, just a quick question.
For point 3 I'm reading it as you're suggesting I should do all 6 lifts every day, just alternating between light/heavy. So 3xlight, 3xheavy.
But for point 4 I'm reading it as you're suggesting to just fill my rest time with a lighter...
Hey guys, I've recently started hitting the gym again and just looking for any feedback you might have.
I'm one of those on again/off again types with the gym and I've determined that one of the main issues I've had was that I want to keep it simple, and not spend too long in there at once...
Yeah I threw together a team in the post just above yours. Using this criteria you still get quite a few players people would consider "A-graders"
I think an earlier poster nailed it when they said the jump from superstar to the next rung is a lot tighter than that level to duds.
I think given the very loose description of B-grade being someone who hasn't won a B+F or been AA, you can actually put together quite a handy side and I think they'd damn near wipe the floor with the 11/11 side. This one is made of players only from finals sides last year (except the doggies...
I think as far as genuine talls go, 6 seems like a pretty good number to me. Then add debatable "talls" like Blicavs and Mackie around them, fill with smalls, and it gives you *something* like this...
FB: Enright | Henderson | Ruggles
HB: Mackie | Taylor | Kolodjashnij
MF: Blicavs | JSelwood...
I'm also on the Barlow/Rockliff bandwagon (curse those who said not to trade them last week!)
Barlow -> B. Kennedy
Rockliff -> R. Gray
Looking like my most preferred option at the moment, and would leave with me just over $325k to make a few quicker upgrade on some of the lesser cash cows...
I'm far from an expert on the game, but I don't think you can just dismiss the last couple years of poor quarters or halves by saying we're a new team. Sure the players may be new, but it could be something that Geelong do as a club during the halftime break that has us coming out sluggish. I...
So tempting to change my mind on some of the 50-50's I made in the last few days.
McDonald, Blicavs, BenKen would have all been handy additions this week
So the old daylight savings fooled me and I missed out on putting Weitering and his casual 87 points into my side. Unless some gun defensive rookies jump out I'm already thinking of just banking the extra cash knowing he'll be first correction trade end of round 2.
Still, much better than last...
DEF: R. Laird - J. Bartel - E. Yeo - B. Smith - R. Rookie - R. Rookie (R. Rookie - R. Rookie)
MID: S. Pendlebury - G. Ablett - R. Gray - T. Rockliff - T. Liberatore - B. Crouch - R. Rookie - R. Rookie (R. Rookie - R. Rookie - R. Rookie)
RUCK: M. Blicavs - N. Naitanui (R. Rookie)
FWD: D...
Hogan -> Gray
T.Hunt -> McKenzie
------------------------------
Next week:
McIntosh -> McDonald
Unsure if I'll make another, I've been burning through so may need to hold off and save a few now
Is anyone else a bit hesitant on trading in too many premo mids? I'm going Ward in this week, then JPK looks tasty next week, Sloane the week after, Rocky will be due in a couple as well and who knows when Ablett is back but IF he's right is a must also.
Problem is you limit cash generation...
Over the next two weeks Griffen/Swallow/Bellchambers will become Krakouer/Ward/???
Should I trade Griffen/Swallow this week, bringing Krak into my mids before moving him forward next week, or just bring him straight into my forwardline and hang onto Griffen or Swallow for one more week?
I'd say the best thing about footywire is that once you've signed up you can save a list of up to 40 players and it will have all the breakevens on one page. Puts all your cash cows, wishlist players, and under performers on one handy list so you can view breakevens from week to week without...
For now I've decided on
Bartel -> Bont
Newnes -> Hunt
Leaves me plenty of cash for next week to go
Griffen -> JPK
Swallow -> Ward/Lewis
Then the next few weeks, stay quiet while I manage rookies to raise cash then go bang around the byes
Bartel -> Bonts it's fairly well locked in ATM
Then...
Griffen -> Lewis/JPK/Ward/Watson (Problem here is that they've all got pretty big breakevens except Watson)
OR
Newnes -> K.Simpson (looks like he'll continue on from his last 30 seasons of consistency) / T.Hunt (Leaves me with a heap of...
