There is an awareness out there this afternoon, by many associated with this trade period, that something might eventuate in this space. Now it's likely, I'm told, by those I have been privileged to speak to that this might involve a discussion on a potential meeting by a number of parties to...
Also saw an Essendon poster suggest a straight swap of Prior for 2MP on the trade board. They must have really gone off him. Would be happy with that trade for sure.
I think we can take 7 picks to the draft if we:
Retire/ delist/ trade - Joe, Lyons, Madden, Lane, Michael, Sharp and Dev
Wait until after the draft to sign Craven and Prior
This gives us 9 spots, 2 of which have been filled by Beecken and McLachlan I think?
Which will then mean we probably...
Are we sure Hipwood can't ruck in a similar way to Joe if he gets his body right for next year? It's not like Joe dominated hit outs when he was in there, but would pull off a couple of freaky plays each game.
Edit: Granted, it doesn't solve the problem, but if we end up playing another third...
Still have a few guys we haven't committed to yet in Prior and Craven. Add a possible trade of Dev and/or Sharp. There are ways to make it work I think. Could see us take 6-7 picks to the draft if we get creative.
Watching the trading day show on kayo and they suggested Richmond might give up 32, 42, 43, 45 and 51 for our pick 20. That would surprise me tbh. I know Richmond won't need them, but I'd be surprised if they were willing to make our job so easy.
Hammelmann with 70 Goals in the QAFL. Not sure how many games. I think that ship has sailed though, from what has been relayed to me (no direct link) he lost interest in playing in the AFL years ago.
Indeed. Brining in someone doesn't mean the club can't give Smith or Fort a crack at the role, or look at other ideas such smaller forward lines, or restructuring with Harris forward. It's just insurance, gives us an option if we want to just plug and play with the structure we had, and/ or...
Wasn't happy with our pick trading in that period and blew up deluxe when we picked Lohman. Thought we looked amateurish with our positioning in that draft. All is well that ends well and happy to be wrong, well kind of :tongueclosed:.
