Assuming L Ashcroft at 2 and Marshall at 20 this is where we are at for now. There is a discount for F/S but not academy picks, is that right? So would bring pick 2 down by 20% resulting in needing 2926 points needed v 2472 that we have.

Any idea who we may be able to split picks 32 or 34 for to increase our points? Perhaps more likely on draft night.

Going to be easily 25+ first round picks this year due to the extra two selections given to Norf to trade out last year, and academy and F/S bidding.

It's a shame because a second round bid on Marshall gets us a flat points discount and deficits apply to your future second round picks and onwards.

Yeah they have, problem we run into is that the extra picks we will need to match bids next year are more scarce given the reduced points value of later selections. So fewer picks we can trade into.

We'll 100% manage to do it without any worries, but I'd like to have kept flexibility so we aren't constantly having to loan ourselves picks from the future to match current bids. Reduces our trade currency to attack players if we want to.

Of course if we lose Starce or Cam then we won't have any issues, but that's not preferred scenario!

I believe that's exactly how we are going to operate for finding points to be honest.

I believe our trade currency will come from eventual best 22 player movements where the list starts squeezing in the upcoming years. Levi, Marshall, Annable and more would mean someone gets pushed out on the other side.

Discount for both F/S and academy picks.

Yeah as I said it's not a big deal. Would have been nice to avoid doing that this year but at the end of the day we get a bunch of rorts so who cares.

Hawthorn trading out pick 14 because they were fed up with West Coast's demands for Barass is so funny. Reminds me of when we traded our first round pick in 2022 for points and dogs fans had an aneuryism lol.

Also, what are the people with the Bailey Smith ice in his veins avatars going to do now lol?

Flat rate kicks it at pick 18. Every bid after that is discounted by 197 points. However yes, first round picks between 18 and X get any deficits removed from your first instead of your second (or third in our current case).

Not relevant for us, but lol at this dumpster fire. This is the only enjoyable part of the trade period. Watching other clubs messes unfold.

Funniest thing is that McClure keeps pushing this and reporting more detail out of Clarry's camp when I'm pretty certain nothing is going to happen this year.

Will be 3 years running of Clarry traid bullshit this time next year.

With all the stuff going on with the Demons with Petrecca, Oliver and the administration, isn't it a little surprising that Sharp has nominated them?
