It’s been reported Geelong are holding pick 8 to draft night. Will only trade once Sanders is off the table. Perfect scenario would be to get GWS pick to take Sanders (if available) then trade with the cats.

2 and 3 not enough for pick one now….. and posturing was off the table!

Go the other way. It was reported eagles want 3 first round picks for #1. We now have them. Port pick and 2x F1 at end of round. Take 1, 2 and 3 to the draft night[emoji6]

If the dogs beat us to the GC pick, we then have the opportunity to trade for the dogs pick 10. Go for broke though, get Reid and GC pick 4.

Absolutely. I’d love it it we could pull that off. Best outcome we could ask for assuming we are not going for Reid.

GC will want at least +500 points wise and they will easily get that. In my opinion, no chance the above happens.

I can tell Cal what triggers band 1 compo. Hogan kicking 9 on the weekend. * will up their offer by 100k on the back of that alone.

I’m not fussed either way. We are in good position so I back the club in from here. I do want Watson before Curtin though. There’s plenty of CHB going top 10 in every draft. There’s only a player of Watson class come around every 10 plus years.

Don’t mind this at all if Hawks are into Duursma. End up with McKercher, Watson and O’Sullivan without giving up any of next years draft capital. Hopefully add Sanders too. That’s without a GWS salary dump.

You don’t do it to help other clubs, you do it to help our club. We just need to be a bit more ruthless on the trade table and only do a deal if it significantly advantages us. None of this pat each other on the back business where we all come out even.

    Preview 2023 National Draft Preview Thread [currently: #2, #14 (PA), #19 (PP) #40, #52, #60]

They have picks to offer up including their own R1, F1 and also R2 tied to Freo. Just a matter of whether they appeal to WCE and us or whether they need to add more. Forgetting about what would satisfy WCE, we would only do it if we got sufficient return ourselves.

    Preview 2023 National Draft Preview Thread [currently: #2, #14 (PA), #19 (PP) #40, #52, #60]

Probably keep 2 and 3 in that instance but I like a third option with Melbourne trading up if ladder position remain as is. Melb pick 1 (Reid) WCE pick 2 (Curtin) We end up with 3 (McKay) and 5 which gets us 2 of Watson, O’Sullivan and McKercher. Add to that extra draft capital from Melbourne...

There could easily be a situation where we genuinely receive band 1 compensation, but it will forever be perceived as a gift from the AFL.

Preview Round 17 Changes and pre-match discussion vs. Geelong @ GMHBA

Love the changes too. It’s good these blokes are not just picked for the sake of it but forcing their way in with good form. Also gives us an opportunity to figure out who will be on the list next year.

    Review 2022 AFL National (& Rookie) Draft(s) Thread II (North's picks - Sheezel, Wardlaw, B.George, Harvey, Drury,Free,Howe,Turner)

More than happy with George. I like it a lot. Traded a future selection for him so less concerned about the fact he is injured. Look forward to seeing what he can do.

Game Day 2022 AFL National Draft Thread (North's current picks - Sheezel, Wardlaw, #23, #63)

Yep, we can pick up plenty of blokes next year for picks in he 40’s if we want. I’m sure they will all be sliders that fill a need. If we pick up 8 blokes, we still should have delisted someone to pick up a ninth. Assuming we get Sheezel, he and Logue are both great positional needs as well. An...

Game Day 2022 AFL National Draft Thread (North's current picks - Sheezel, Wardlaw, #23, #63)

One for the experts… Assuming he is our target, is he worth giving up our F2 for? Do other clubs rate him this highly or is a live trade back a few spots likely?

Game Day 2022 AFL National Draft Thread (North's current picks - Sheezel, Wardlaw, #23, #63)

Agree that a pick around 70 is all we need for Cooper. We won’t have pick 70 though unless we delist one of your favourite players.

After reading thousands of trade scenario’s, it’s done my head in….but I’d like to see the Hopper deal go down first to see GWS full hand and what we can extract. Maybe Tigers future first comes into it. Then do the trade with them if we are going to. Worry about Port at the end. If they...

Enough of the posts where clubs trade future first and future second round pick please. Just because trade radio makes these ridiculous suggestions doesn’t mean it can be done. Clubs must have a future second coming back in these situations.

Twomey says in one sentence we should be happy with pick 2 (which will become pick 3) for JHF as it is only one spot off where he was drafted. Next sentence he says we could trade pick 1 to pick 3, but we would want another first rounder back. Get real Cal!
