A lot of maybe the Afl did this, maybe that, could have, should have. Not a single sentence about him taking responsibility for his own actions. One strike policy for inflicting violence on a woman. What, are you suggesting there should be two strike, three strike policy. The man has shown to be a terrible human, who it appears does not have ability to learn or to adjust his behavior. It is not the Swan's responsibility to make him an agreeable human. That was primarily parental responsibility and once of age it is his own responsibility.

And as I posted. Times have changed.

If you're keen on Tsatas, which from what I understand you are, you'll have to pay up. It's that simple.
I'm sure we are keen on plenty of players. Does not mean we will do stupid deals to get them though.

The difference between the player available at 5 and 10 doesn't warrant trading away a future first.

It's a dream scenario for Essendon though

I think tsatas makes it to you guys at 10 anyway

Last year a future second was needed to move from 14 to 12. GWS had to move on their F1 to move up two places from 6 to 4. Pick 2 cost essentially 8, 12 and a third. It's not unreasonable to say pick 5 (adding a perfect player for your midfield I might add) is worth pick 10 and potentially a pick into the teens next year.

I don't see a scenario where we trade back for anything less than a F1.

It did for GWS a few years ago. Trading up into the top 5 means you gotta overpay hardcore.

GWS was a different scenario though right? Needed to guarantee that they were ahead of a Tom Green bid, and after coming off a grand final season it was worth trading a future first to cement 2 top 10 talents.

St Kilda have every chance of going backwards and we didn't even make finals. I'm not sure I'd personally trade 9+9 for 5 for a player that may fall to our pick regardless.

He won't get past Hawthorne. That's why you potentially trade up.

We aren't trading up to avoid using a pick on an academy player though

I do agree however that you need to pay up to move up the draft, I can't understand why we would be so desperate to do it though?

Dodoro would be jerking himself off with a yabbie pump if we offered him that deal

12 and 18 for 6, 6 and a future 1st for 4. Whether it’s getting ahead of a Tom Green bid or getting ahead of another club taking the player you want, moving up into the top 5 won’t be cheap. Clubs won’t let that pick go for anything except a massive overpay.

I would trump ess and give you 3 for 9 and your future 1st.

Saints would be crazy to do either.
Meh. It means we get Wardlaw if you do that.

And that is probably the reason why we rarely see clubs trading up into the top 5.

Not sure why it would be any different for us,especially when the player available at 10 isn't far away from the one at 5.

St Kilda would take Wardlow I'd imagine
I'd be surprised. Tsatas is the perfect player to add to your engine room.

In any case, we won't know for another week and a half. I still expect us to try to get ahead of a Davey bid regardless.

So effectively they traded (at the time projected) 3 picks that were between 12-18 for 2 top 10 players? They come out pretty favourably if you look at it in the context.

We'd be trading (likely) 2 top 10 picks for pick 5 in an even-ish early draft.

I'd imagine if Essendon wanted our future first 22 would have to be involved in the deal, otherwise it would just be a stupid decision by our club.

My current thoughts:

1. GWS: Cadman
2. Bri: Ashcroft (match)
3. NM: Sheezel
4. NM: Wardlaw
5. St. K: Tsatas
6. GC: Ginbey
7. Haw: Clark
8. Gee: Busslinger
9. WC: Phillipou
10. Ess: Humphrey
11. Car: MacKenzie
12. WB: Hayes
13. WC: Allen
14. Mel: Jefferson
15. Syd: Hollands
16. GWS: Hotton
17. Ess: George
18. Syd: Cowan
19. Ess: Davey (match)
20. GWS: Konstanty
21. GWS: Clarke
22. WC: Hewett
23. WB: Weddle
24. Bri: Fletcher (match)
25. Col: Hustwaite
26. NM: Cowan
27. Haw: Szybkowski
28. Col: Keeler
29. WC: Jones
30. Col: Adams

Where does Cowan train during the week . Might need to fix pick 26.

For one top 10 player. Pick 12, 18, and a future first for Lachie Ash.

And 12 would have to have been used on Green had they kept it

If Cameron MacKenzie was available as an academy selection like he would have a few years back then the deal would make sense

There doesn't seem to be any logic to paying a kings ransom to move up the draft though. I think it just suits Essendon fans.

Wrong. The club has narrowed their shortlist down to realistic players available at their pick, namely Mckenzie, Phillipou & Busslinger, in that order. We ain’t trading up for Tsatas. You’ve been banging on about this silly trade hypothetical for weeks.

If it goes like that I would hope we trade with Carlton in a similar way as I suspect it would be for busslinger and cats would take Clark so just a swap of 7 and 8 and then we take mackenzie and add a second rounder.
