Re: Ports Marketing appraoch and Team
Andrew Weaver doesn't work at the club anymore, and he wasn't in marketing, he was in digital media. Doesn't come up with the idea's, just puts them in the paper, websites etc..
Your supporters dont compare themselves to Port, because most of your supporters dont follow football, they might attend their games, but that is where it ends.
I have 7 people in my office, 5 of whome claim to be crow supporters, 3 of them also barrack for another team, guess who that is...
That post has nothing to do with what i said!! Why do i even bother replying!!
Chances are you are just a bitter supporter of one the many Clubs that grew up hating and being envious of Port Adelaide, so you jumped on a made up team, because your club wasn't good enough to take on Port alone...
Why did Roo retire?
Hardly at the top of him game hey, did he get a touch in his last game?
Not saying Roo is crap, not at all, but at some stage all must come to an end.
Using the cows argument, that 2 is greater than 1.
surley you must also agree that 1 is greater than 0.
Incase you dont get it,
Mark Williams 1
Niel Craig 0
Your right, we dont need a survey to know who the better coach is.
Whenever we refer to being an old club with tradition, we get slammed in the media, and are constantly told that we are alienating the possible now supporters that grew up disliking Port. Even though that is the reason we got in the AFL, and we should market us that way!!
What is the slogan...
Correct me if i am wrong, but wasn't there a situation last year against melbourne, where carlton were a couple pts up at 3/4 time or something against melbourne, then left Fev off for the whole last 1/4 (when he was dominating).
Or was i misinformed (i didnt see the game in question), if this...
Winning 7 out of 8 finals is no fluke i agree, although it should have only been 5 finals as you finished 5th, lost your first final and played the following week. But that was the system then.
Funny though, how those 8 games were not a fluke or lucky, yet the whole of our season in 2007 was...
So he can hit a target lace out, but cant kick a straight forward goal. If you want to say Motlop or any other player for that matter choked, you would have to say Bock's shocker was a choke.
Although personally i think all this choking talk is utter rubbish.
I thought it wasn't a rebuild, you said we have 80% of our premiership side still playing???
And what seems to be special about our rebuild, is while doing the rebuild we played in a Grand Final during that period, while overhauling our list.
What we have doen well, is turnover our list...
Its well known the Crows have a much larger supporter base than Port.
Port are the only stand alone club from South Australia that could get a decent crowd in AFL. The Majority of Crows supporters come from tho other 8/9 SANFL clubs. So Prior AFL in SA, Port dominated the crowd figures.
And...
Read the thread you clown, its about Port getting bagged for crowd figures. Show me a thread started by a port person bagging someone about ther crowd!
And the Crows should get that kind of crowd condiering 70% barracks for them. So % wise of supporter base both clubs get the same numbers...
I know making money is important to fund your club, but all clubs play for onfeild success. ANd we are making money and winning most games.
So what your saying is you would rather be Collingwood than any club that has won a Flag over the last 10 years.
Motlop didnt come to us until 2006!!
and ther are 40 players on a list, so the 9 premiership players plus Salopek, Chappy, Pettigrew, White and Ebert from 2004 make 14 players from 2004. thats a turnover of 26 players.
Baiscally all but about 7-8 of our players are 25 years old or younger.
Right and wrong.
The first point is true, in terms of numbers and percentage of supporters Crows get just as many no shows as Port, in fact i would say more, 42,000 out of 750,000 supporters, port get 25,000 out of 350,000 supporters. But in terms of members, its about a similar % supporters...
Yeah, fair call, but if we won the last game we played we would have been premiers!
so if and buts dont mean anything, we did win all those close games like good team do, but unfortunately we were 2nd best over the year, and and GF day.
I'm not saying that the umpires lost us the game, but there were 3 horrible decisions against us, Pettigrew getting called for a throw, when the umpires was behind him, and petigrew atually handpassed it.
Then Carslile getting done for a push in the back in the 2nd quarter, dont know what the...
Fair go, he barracked for Port as a Kid, imagine how good it wold be to play for the club you barrack for. He actually tried to leave at the end of 2003 too.
But yes it sucks when good players leave your club.
Port have had the biggest list turnover, over the last few years. We are not happy losing, and were not pathetic either, wasn't that the 2nd closest game geelong have had for about a year??
If thats the case, Lade would be miles ahead, as he has played many good finals, even when our finals record was bad.
You may remember his 4 first half goals against you guys in 2004 that pretty much set the tone for our finals series.
But yes Ottens is very good.
If you read my reply to you in the first place, you would have seen, that i wasn't bagging Roo at all, I am just using what happened to him at the end of his career, as why Port have taken so long to announce Tredrea.
Perhaps i could have used Buckley as an example, but seeing the only people...
Port quite a few time last year were losing and came from behind to win, and winning close ones shows plenty of beleif, 34 points down aginst freo in rd 1 last year mid way through the 3rd term and subi, and we went on to win. Against Collingwood at MCG, in the wet close all day, but mostly...
I wont argue that Geelong, are a very good side, and most sides will fear playing them this year. But i enjoy playing the best, as you get a chance to work out where you are at. Geelong were clearly better then us last year, although the Grand Final wasn't the true reflection, and hopefully we...
For what its worth, Most Port supporters are rapt Tredrea is Captain, as he generally plays very good football when given the responsibility
And i would say, with the way Riccuito couldn't lead his club much last year due to injury, Port dont want the same thing to happen with Tredrea. Although...
If it went unreported, how do you "know" about it? Probably because it isn't true, and some loser with nothing better to do than bag a club, they apparently dont care about, made it up.
