He'd be doing well to poll votes in a losing side (consistently that is) My bet would be on Forster or Foreman. Pity that Egglestone played a heap of seniors late in the season for TP, otherwise I'd say he'd be a fair chance. Just for hits and giggles, my team of the year: (Apologies if...

don't think so will be interesting to see how the Xavs/Ivanhoe game goes now that Xavs have shown some good form. Bit of revenge for Xavs after last years prelim?

That's why you have two timekeepers...so you don't let the other side cheat. And who says Westbourne are unbeatable at home? Geelong and ESL have done it, and Therry will probably do it this week, which makes sense as Westbourne are probably the 4th best team in the comp behind those 3...

    U19 North 2 (2009)

What happened with the Ivanhoe/Fitzroy game? Wouldn't have given Fitzroy any chance at all but only went down by 3 goals and lead at half time. Were Ivanhoe off the boil? Or has Fitzroy improved?

Half way through the season, so interested to hear people's thoughts on how the ladder might look at end of the season. My predicted ladder: Old Geelong Emmaus St Leos Therry Penola Ivanhoe Old Xaverians Old Westbourne Latrobe Uni Fitzroy Aquinas Rupertswood Old Geelong have hardly put a...

    U19 North 2 (2009)

Tips for this week: The two big losers from last week come together. It will be welcome relief to one team, and far worse for the other. I'll go with Latrobe for the home ground advantage, by 16 points. Fitzroy had an extra week to prepare, and their first side notched up a massive 250+ win...

    D1 2009

I'll try and improve from 2/5 this week. Tips for this week: Aquinas should be able to account for SMD by 16 points. Watch out for Matty Aver...he can take a grab! Werribee are looking the goods early after demolishing SMD last week. Will be much of the same this week, should win by 30...

Werribee are tough to beat at Soldiers, and despite SMD thinking they have the wood over them, I reckon the Bees will keep on moving up. Werribee by 5 goals. quote] Not at soldiers we dont. I have played there 3 times and im 0 - 3. It's a sure thing then! :D

    D1 2009

Tips for this week: OM should be able to get past a fairly ordinary NOBS outfit. OM by 4 goals. ESL will get off to a good start in D1 with a comfortable win against the nearly relegated Aquinas. ESL by 35 Werribee are tough to beat at Soldiers, and despite SMD thinking they have the wood...

Might as well have a crack at tips for what its worth. Be hard to get all 4 without knowing the early form, and turnover of players from last year, but here goes anyway: Ivanhoe over the Combined OG's/Blacks unit by 25 - I think last years runners up will have too much continuity, while the...

Aren't full forwards meant to kick goals... Congrats on the premiership though, just make sure you don't come straight back down again mate

    U19 U/19 North2

I reckon they'll win by 45 points Not to gloat or anything but what a tip!

Bit early to be making ladder predictions surely... But Werribee would have to be higher than 8th after only losing one game all year between the seniors and the ressies....

    U19 U/19 North2

Despite all the suggestions (mainly from me) that Aquinas will choke, I can't see them throwing this one away. Ivanhoe have some good big bodied forwards, they run well for each other and their midfield try and get forward as much as possible. However I think Aquinas just have too many...

Cheers! I genuinely didn't know the answer, but since West arked up about it I thought I'd play along with him. Massive chance this week to get that first one then, no pressure ;) Won't be able to get down to the Pit for the game, but will eagerly await reading the results in the Sun on...

Still waiting West... You wanted me to ask the question mate Go on, answer it

    U19 U/19 North2

Just word around the traps Eddie... Although I know for a fact they spent the '05 season on top of the table only to fall to 3rd in the last 3 rounds, then get bundled out of finals in week 1 by Old Westbourne
  20. R

    U19 U/19 North2

I wasn't suggesting they should be playing finals...merely that if they were, at least we wouldn't have to read the rubbish being written on here by Xav's and Ivanhoe players. It's embarrassing for both clubs

    D2 D2 Ammos 2008

Ok... How long has Werribee been in the VAFA comp for? And then, when was their last flag? It was a simple question. Nothing wrong with being favourites...but you're kidding yourself if the players don't think about who's favourite and who's not.

    D2 D2 Ammos 2008

Long time, first time: Just a quick question. Out of interest, when was the last time Werribee won a senior flag?
  23. R

    U19 U/19 North2

Anyone would be a chance against Aquinas in a final. Infamous chokers But they are a very good side. I think as the season went on they have become less reliant on Aver, and they have more contributors across the board in general.
  24. R

    U19 U/19 North2

I can't believe we are coming up to the grand final with Aquinas being the general crowd favourite, all because Ivanhoe and Old Xav's couldn't sort out their differences on the footy field, and are continuing to fill this forum with petty insults and tired attempts at wit. Aquinas only lost...

    U19 U/19 North2

Is going to be a great game, and I can't wait to get out there and see it. Should be a tough, uncompromising game of football. Despite Xav's having to come from behind last weekend against Therry I reckon they might just hold the psychological edge over the Hoes. Xav's will need to start well...
  26. R

    U19 U/19 North2

Does it matter when a seniors or ressies team is in the finals? Therry's 2's are playing a final
  27. R

    U19 U/19 North2

He's just a footballer...just a bit bigger than most. Doesn't look out of place in Therry's seniors. Almost wouldn't look out of place at an over 28's night Schembri might play on him....now that is worth the price of admission
  28. R

    U19 U/19 North2

The big question all year has been will Aquinas choke? They have history of dominating all year then falling over at the end of the season when it counts. I still rate them over Ivanhoe, so will tip them, and by a good 40 points, but I think Ivanhoe is better off playing Aquinas than Xav's at...

    U19 U/19 North2

Ok, my tips for this week: This is a great game to show where these two teams are at coming into finals. I'm looking forward to seeing if Ivanhoe can take it to the premiership favourites. Unfortunately for them I think Aqunias might be too good here. But if they do lose, the choking sounds...
