I'm not seeing it that way. I see a young player who lost continuity with his body and therefore lost confidence. He kicked 24 goals from 21 games as a 19 year old last season so I see an AFL quality player there. In saying that, this pre-season is massive for him. If he can get his body right...

Why? He'll be 28 early next year, plays a role that we have a surplus in and won't ever be worth more on the market than he is right now. If we want to be able to afford A grade quality we need to be prepared to move on B graders.

The notion of "fighting for finals survival" is more or less arbitrary when there's 1 1/2 games separating 2nd and 9th. In essence everyone bar Sydney and the bottom 5 are fighting for finals survival.
