Can we pin this so people stop asking why we spent our second rounder to move up! Relish in the fact we identified our guy and did what we needed to get him.
Move on.
Perfect scenario where best available and team needs match up.
Kid already has a bit of size, can only image what a few preseasons are going to do. If he ends up adding another cm or two, then he'll really be in the sweat spot for a 'power forward' as he calls it
Watching McCluggage have a ripper of a game last week was a beautiful reminder that everyone could see he was the obvious #1 pick in 2016... until we got the Dodoro special :drunk:
This deal looks to be a complete failure. In real terms, with inflation, it’s basically no gain in value since the original deal was signed but for what seems to be worse outcome for fans. How can anyone at AFL house claim this as a win for the game.
How is no FTA games on Saturday not huge news? Would have though the entire footy community would be fuming at this decision by the AFL to shaft fans 🤔
Fascinating pick. Excited to have him at the club,
For probably the past decade, drafting the absolute best inside mid would have been a Bigfooty wet dream. But after the rise of Parish and Merrett, both breaking the top 10 in the comp for disposals, it seems like a pick one season too late...
👆This version looks 1000x better!
The current monogram proposed is honestly embarrassingly bad.
I think people are just celebrating change for the sake of change at this point.
I don't think there's a club in the world with a fighter jet logo that looks any good.
I'd lean more into the EFC side of things, with a subtle nod to the plane.
I wouldn't say comfortably but to give up Saad to bring in pick 8, and then to get Hind effectively for free is a brilliant move.
Both players are 26, so we don't lose anything in age.
This is all assuming Hind stays at this level. Saad has proven his worth over multiple years.
Ordinarily the top pick doesn't get drafted into a finals contender.
I don't think there's any draft pick that would just walk into this lineup now that we have 10 senior players returning but McGrath truly was one of the most likely to do so.
The data isn't exact as some days the figures may be from a couple days before or just after but ill try keep up from 28th going forward if I remember
Every year we see a few drafted from the 'non traditional' football states but to see 4 from NSW go amongst the the very best seems to be a huge effort.
To compair:
QLD - 1
SA - 3
WA - 1
TAS - 1
What you're talking about can be done. Just like the Plans to Develop Fed Square East as shown below. Won't happen for any foreseeable future. Not sure why though. Seems like the city could cash in financially while making the city better if sold to the right development.
Get 15+18 done asap.
Take all our picks and see if they can be used to trade up. Points are more valuable to clubs like GWS who will be making academy bids.
Can someone explain to me why everyones' blowing their load over this shit McCarthy rumour?
Kicked 35 goals while some other bloke took the best defender all year.
Good player...but pick 5... :drunk:
By the sounds of the Saints bloke on Trade Radio, he would be please with Carlisle +R2 pick for Pick 5.
I think Essendon will ask for a little more. I'm thinking R3 pick from next year and it goes though.
A lot of pats on the back it this thread, but NRL still on track to make more P.A with their deal (after the their Foxtel Money is also added). Don't remember that being the case before.
