    No thanks

Luke Hodge - All Australian Centre

Great player but he does still get a lot of cheapies.

    Brad Ottens

How good was his ruckwork today? Didn't have to beat a lot but it was still brilliant seeing him hitting the ball right down the throat of his midfielders time after time. Then he goes forward and creates a heap of opportunities for the other forwards. His value goes above and beyond...

    Got to love the Jimmy

It's great that we have so many courageous midfield types (Bartel, Corey, Ablett). Then we have the smooth types (Kelly, Enright) to finish their hard work. Good combination.

    Geelong have no forward line

Whatever happened to that theory? Averaging 115 points a game, highest in the league (a good 2 goals more than any other team). And herein lies the impact that having a true contested marking threat in Ottens has. Creates so many more opportunities for his other forwards.

After 9 rnds which supporters would be most disappointed.

St. Kilda supporters should be, but they seem to have faith. I'd say Carlton fans. There was talk after the Wizard Cup of playing finals, now they're barely competitive and their lack of depth has been shown up.

    Archer in trouble

From a Geelong perspective i felt he was just trying to put some phyiscal pressure on Thurley. Had no real chance to hit the ball so probably in a bit of trouble.

    Well done cats

Thanks. From our perspective it was good to finish a team off for the second week in a row, is something we lacked in our game until now.

    Geelong: A Record?

The Doggies probably have had more touches at some point this year, but i'd be surprised if they had such an even spread. Top possession winner had 30, lowest had 9.

Scarlett just did his knee - out for the year

Yeah, falsely claiming a player has been seriously injured is ********ing hilarious.

    Geelong: A Record?

Today Geelong amassed 384 touches in our 85 point smashing of North Melbourne. Geelong ended up having 111 more touches. Geelong only had one player who had less than 10 touches, and that was first gamer Tom Lonergan who had 9 touches in limited time. Has to be a record in there somewhere.
  12. A

    Tom Lonergan

And another. 8 touches, 6 marks, 2 goals. Handy debut, and with Mooney having yet another brainfade he'll get another chance.
  13. A

    Tom Lonergan

Well done on your first goal son. Hope it's the first of many.

    Chapman injured again??

Well, he came on in the third quarter and started racking up the touches again. Good news.
  15. A

    Corey Enright

He's given Daniel Wells the hiding of a lifetime. He's not better than Kelly or Bartel though. Those two win the hardballs, whereas Boris plays more as an outside midfielder. Very loose. He's important to the team because he finishes off the work of others, but if you put Kelly or Bartel...

Kangaroos - Get a decent list

You have plenty of heart, just don't have the cattle. It will come, but it takes time when you've been paying 93% for so long.
  17. A

    Chapman injured again??

Was on target for one of the best games of the season too. 14 touches, 5 marks, 1.2 Hope we give him a genuine rest this time.

    Unbelievable

I'm only following the stats, but North have had two more frees despite Geelong winning a ********load more of the ball. There may have been some bad umpiring, but when you're getting more frees than the team who is winning a heap more of the ball you don't have a whole lot to complain about IMO.
  19. A

    Official Match Thread

North have had 10 frees, Geelong 8. Geelong have had 53 more possessions, so usually you'd expect the team that's first to the ball to get more frees. Not the case today.

Scarlett just did his knee - out for the year

God i hope so. Annoying. a fairweather supporter, attention seeking and lacking in football knowledge. Got plenty of them, so this one won't be missed. BAN BAN BAN BAN

    Simmonds = Ottens.

Is there an award for how many threads you can start on your own team within 24 hours of them playing? Ottens takes more contested marks inside 50 than ANYONE in the league. We win.

Scarlett just did his knee - out for the year

Absolute dog act. What could you possibly get from posting such a thing? If it's attention, you must be a sad little ********. Ban him mods.

Most Hated Player(s) from each team.

I have a healthy dislike for Stephon Marbury, but hate is far too strong a word. Hating a sportsperson you've never met is bizarre to me.

    Farewell Reggie!

The last of the golden era is now gone. :( Never rated him as highly as most, but it's a sad day all the same.

    Geelong Gumbies recruiting

Just thought i'd let you know that i've had my username changed so LeBron James is now Andrew Bogut. If you need confirmation have a look at the sticky thread for the Gumbies. The posts i made as LeBron James are now listed as Andrew Bogut. Thanks

    Anthony Rocca

What injury caused him to be under a cloud before the game? McGuire and Larkins on 9 said hamstring but Swann said on 3AW before the game that the problem was a sore achilles. If it was the achilles and he's done some serious damage to it tonight questions would have to be asked.

    Who Will Collingwood Snitch

Every year Collingwood go after a big name. Their success rate would be almost as bad as Geelong's. Love the name, title and avatar worthy. Nice tribute to an underrated baller.

    S. Telfair

Telfair has talent. He'll be better when he can get out of Oregon though.

Test Tests: Round 3: QUEENSLANDER vs GEELONG @ the GABBA: 21/1/05

2 for and an unbeaten maiden century. Very special. Good to finally carry over my excellent OD form to the longer game.
