What I don't understand is when man on the mark moves to his side it's 50 if he moves forward its 50. What did Markov do wrong for that 50 that went against him, why can't you walk back, why dies the umpire stop a player from moving backwards. I lost my nut over it. What's this doing for the gane enriching it?

Got to give credit to Montagna, who pointed out during the week how well we control the moments and use tempo during games. I think he tipped us on that basis.

Our performances in the first two finals made it clear that our loss of form during the season was down to "meaningless" games. We just weren't defending and pressuring as hard. As soon as we switched that back on the slump games became irrelevant to any analysis.

Brisbane are still a good team and had a chance, but I felt we were clearly favoured going into today's game. They just aren't as good a finals team as us. At our best we are simply better.

It was disgraceful. Markov was well in his rights to back out of the zone

Honestly watching the reply ( because we won the *en GF baby) every time we got caught it was holding the ball or moving off the mark and 50 but every time it was lions it was a ball up or get back call from the maggots!

That crap happened in all 3 finals. If holding the ball was paid to both sides, we win each game by 20 points instead of 1 goal.

Yep. Lions shouldn't have got a high free in their defence early in the first. Ducked into it. Should have been holding the ball and a shot at goal. Possibly a worse decision, but because it happened early will go mostly unnoticed.

As was calling play on for Cox while Bailey was within the protected zone. Umpire should have moved him away before calling play on.

Yep. What a legend. Sidebottom too, his ability to lock up the contest all game was incredible. The win made sweeter with those two club legends playing such a huge role.

I am so happy for Steele and Pendles. They deserved so much more than just 2010.

Both these guys are club legends and will be hall of famers no doubt. Today confirmed it. Next year may raise them to Immortal status. 13 years between flags.
It's testament to both their , resilience and commitment.

Cox's ruck work in the last quarter was sublime, loved the way he smashed the ball forward and to advantage

For all the rubbish that he cops, he does a lot of smart things on the football field.

Loved his interview post game, him coming to terms with what he has achieved and what he's sacrificed. Plenty of raw emotion. Beautiful.

It's impossible to hear umpires calls and whistles with the huge noisey MCG crowd no allowance is made for this !
But when the umps instruct players to get out of ruck duels they nag continuously !
