With Parish and Heppell already, we couldn't afford to get another 11kmph maximum speed mid.
Parish is quicker than you think, he spreads very well from the contest

I feel like he just glides into space, Heppell spreads really well also. What I mean though, is Parish, Heppell and McCluggage was too one paced for the future. regardless of how much pace you put around them.

I really liked McGrath's game tonight, no idea what people are talking about. Tried really hard, I'm sure it will all come together for him, and us for that matter.

He really gassed himself in his first 10 or so minutes, sprinting from position to position and didn't really conserve his explosive energy. Francis did the same thing in his first game last year.

Nervous energy would've run rampant through him but he will be better for the run.

He looked like the worstest number pick everer and we should have picked not just Clugg but everyone else before him.
Should have picked Mathieson!!

Mate we're allowed to think he looked a touch out of depth tonight.

It was only his first hit out so nobody cares about it.
Pretty obvious piss take I thought...

Was gagging to see him get it and burn away but seemed to just get it and quickly handball. Reckon the pace of the game may have suprised him. He can work from here after now knowing how fast the big time is.

Looked like he got burnt a few times as a viable running option; Tippungwuti and Johanissen have all had the same things happen as teams get used to looking for them as a release player.

I thought his hands in traffic were fantastic; quick and accurately hitting a target every time. He did look bloody small out there though.

Went and kept a look out for him. Defensively he was quite good, made a few nice spoils and covered ground well. Love how decisive he is by hand too.

As has been pointed out, there were a number of times he had run on but wasn't passed to by teammates. He'll start getting those recieves soon.

One thing I hope he'll work on is just having more confidence in his kicking. I used to have a few querys on his kicking, but having seen him over preseason, I'm not worried about it. He just needs to be as decisive by foot as he is by hand and he'll be saucy.
