That is perfect vision of what he does to clubs. He turns their zone into a cluster**** with his run.

Will end up an endurance beast - He's naturally gifted aerobically and is already running out games to the end.

Yep its pretty exciting when you think that the coaches have all said he did about half the training that Parish did as a first year player last year during the preseason. He just has enormous potential to develop in the next few years.

Does anyone else think he is holding himself back in the first half of matches. Almost, just being sure he is defending his opponent, and not taking the game on as much?

After half time, he appears to be really letting the shackles go, and getting lots of penetration from his run out of defence. Not sure if this is by design (given his low fitness base), or just what I am noticing. But at the moment it is definitely working for him, and can't wait until he has the fitness base to do it for four quarters!

Didn't take much notice of the preseason (injuries and so forth) so why did he only do half of the training that Parish did? Core strength and fitness base at least equal to Parish in his first year I would have thought.

I went ****ing nuts when he did that, but nobody around me made a peep. I don't know how people that go to the footy every week, don't know how amazing that is!

They never really told us why exactly because he was fit as were all our first year players from memory. The only comment I heard from the coaches was that Parish did more than first year players normally would (because of all our suspensions last year) and therefore all our first year players this year did far less than Parish last year. This wasn't specific to McGrath either - it was true for all our first years: McGrath, Ridley, Clarke, Begley, Mutch etc.

Daniher the selfish prick robbed him of goal of the millennium, he was on for the return handball and had an acre in front of him, and he wanted it as well.

Seriously did we even consider anyone else for the first pick, the guy looks like being the best first draft pick in the game's history.....
Whoops!

He does look like a really great player, though.

Smart, self-driven and highly skilled.

Looks like a genuine leader; not just a token football club leader, but a leader.

He and Merrett are refreshingly measured people for their ages.

Southern Stand would be a pile of rubble right now if that had happened.

So you picked the players that went 1&2 in the draft to become the 2 best players from the draft. Interesting
He said it pre-draft.

I like the idea of Taranto, but I have to wonder whether that might be bias due to a James Hird comparison at some point prior to the draft? At any rate McGrath is our boy and I very much doubt we'll be disappointed by him if he keeps going the way he has been going.
