I can see why you'd want to wrap the conversation up quickly. You've contradicted yourself

Let it go mate.

I'm saying I don't think he has an attitude problem. I said if he is fully fit and doesn't have mental lapses then it would be fair to call it attitude. But I don't think that's the case. You disagree. It's okay. The world will keep turning.

Is he in a form slump? Yes. But his first half of the year was at a very high standard. Overall I'd say the majority of the year he's been very good.

Agree with this.

I was alarmed by the lack of pace and came here to post about it. On opening this thread it landed on that McGrath v Charlie Cameron highlights reel.

Let's just put it down to a shit night. He either wasn't feeling great or could find his timing on the night.

He's just another guy who is happy enough to get paid and pay off a few houses, legacy is secondary, good thing for him is he'll play another 6-7 years for us.
I'm not really sure how you can surmise that. He seems like he has a lot of determination.

I think he's just a bit average.

Well its fact not opinion that he saw himself as a midfielder and he has been tried and removed from the midfield. Its my opinion that his ego took a hit there. My opinion is that his attitude stinks at the moment. You're saying his attitude is fine, but hes injured and is having mental lapses? But you could agree with me on attitude if he's not injured?
Have never heard anything negative about his attitude coming from inside the club and we have a history of that stuff leaking out. He did want to be a midfielder but what you say about his ego being the issue does not fit with what I know about him or you hear from anyone who talks about him.

Whats his issue at the moment in your opinion?

Poor form. Lack of confidence. Just not that good. Maybe injured. Take your pick. I just know that ego and sooking it up is something that has never been mentioned in his character ever.

Might not have been mentioned but its what it looks like. He is VC and his leadership is poor. And his form is terrible, everyone can see that. You've said it yourself he jogs around. Confidence is something hes never lacked. Just not that good? I think he's proven he is a more than capable small defender when he wants to be. If he's injured then he shouldn't be playing

I think it’s unfair to say that a persons never lacked confidence in the past so they have to have it now.

There’s lots of reasons people lose confidence. Some onfield, some off field. Everyone’s allowed a bad day here and there.

There’s been some bad losses the past few weeks and when looking at the list and who showed up, who kept trying ect McGrath was still trying (even if sometimes trying too much led to mistakes)

I don’t think this is true at all. Unfortunately McGrath is not gonna be the star we all hoped for. Shaping up as the type of player who’d have a ripping career if we picked him in the 2nd round.. not pick 1

Maybe. I just see a guy who plays within himself a bit, played some good stuff and some bad stuff this year, hopefully we see more of the good stuff.

Doesn't look like a confidence issue to me. Ant555 gave it as a possible reason for his form. Do you think he lacks confidence? A bad day here and there is fine of course. He's been down on form for weeks and his body language, disposal, running, everything is letting him down. I hope he bounces back as much as you

Went back to watch this

2 most noticeable things
That explosive pace off the mark is gone
And the vision and handballs to advantage also.

these cant be hard to work on and get back

Looks 15kg lighter there. They probably need to strip weight off him now that they're not trying to play him as an inside midfielder.

What stands out to me is the handball to advantage followed by the sprint to be in position to receive the ball back. You don't see that much anymore

Holy meatballs, whoever says Andy bounces almost as soon as he gets it is correct. Done it 2 - 3 times already.

Run and then bounce
I did. People have a problem with his hack kicks but it's often his tendency to bounce as soon as he gets the pill, and then again welĺ before he needs to, that often puts him under pressure and leads to hack kicks too.
