I think its on us to make sure our best players are well compensated and don't feel like they need to leave for better opportunities.

I'm not going to wish her good luck because Collingwood sucks, but I don't wish her ill will either. You need to take care of yourself.

This is just the nature of the beast. It will take a number of years for the women’s footy to settle into a predictable pattern. The players need to have money at the front of their decision making process. We lose a great player. Let’s hope we can pinch one.

Player movement is always going to hurt.

This one feels a little worse than usual - support a player, as your highest paid player through a full season of recovery for them to turn around as soon as they get fit and take the best offer is a little disheartening.

Just like in the Men's game, got to accept player movement, however it hits harder when that player is someone who has received an abundance of support above and beyond the average player at the club.

Her face shouldn't even be on the banner on bigfooty anymore, no more marketing or support from Carlton please. As the coach said, she blindsided the club and put them on the back foot - Goodbye.

The club would be very happy with the result, and in another 5-10 years as the standard of play picks up and the talent pool widens we will look back even more fondly on the deal.

Going to be interesting looking back at the caliber of topline players in Year 1 in comparison to the best in Year 10 of AFLW.
