Chad Warner
When the Sydney Swans swept up Chad Warner with pick 39 at the 2019 AFL Draft, they secured a youngster with an insatiable appetite for the contest. Warner attacks the ball and opponents with aggression and is relishing calling midfield bulls Josh Kennedy and Luke Parker his teammates at the Swans. Warner impressed for Western Australia in the 2019 AFL Under-18 Championships, averaging 18.2 touches (50 per cent contested), 3.2 clearances and 6.8 tackles per game. He also tallied an average of 27.1 disposals, 6.4 clearances and 7.4 tackles per match at Colts level for East Fremantle in 2019. He earned his AFL debut against Richmond in Round 6 of the 2020 season, recording eight disposals and two tackles.

KP it's all your fault lol
Look Bedford, back in 2020 before Chad became the Gigachad SF51 made the thread title “Chad ‘Wingard’ Warner”.

I see the current thread title as a serious improvement on that one.

I noticed earlier this year the On the Couch blokes referred to him as "The Chad". Maybe they read BF.

“The Chad” was used in the Charlie’s Angels movie for Tom Greens character playing Drew Barrymore’s boyfriend who spoke about himself in the third person. Had a fair bit of traction at the time whenever you heard the name Chad.

Things that have never happened in the AFL before

  • Chad Warner's final quarter of 13 disposals, 7 clearances, 7 contested possessions and 4, rebound 50s has never been achieved by another player in a single quarter of football.

They didn't call him by his proper name
Also that's probably in the CD era

Not only that, but the impact of those disposals were huge. He was immense in the 4th.

I think that 4th quarter was huge in terms of his self-belief. Not that he was ever short of confidence, but the fact that he flipped the switch and was able to have the impact he did will spur him on to impose himself more regularly.
