He was brilliant but chill on the Sam Mitchell comparisons, the guy was a maestro for more than a decade.

Short, slow and can’t kick more than 30m

This was the point.

FFS, half the AFL players can't kick more than 30m these days.

Anyone else think that tackle that saw him dumped on his back was a little borderline?
The spear dump tackle that has been banned for over a decade and is worthy of at least a 2 match ban, no...

Lol yea he’s like Sam Mitchell if Mitchell played forward and wasn’t elite off either foot/side

long bow

He’s hrovat 2.0

Dogs can hear sounds above 20,000 Hz, and I can't hear that.

Owls can see prey at night, and I can't see that.

Great White Sharks can smell blood diluted to 10ppb in water, and I can't smell that.

Jack Mahony has an elite football brain.................... and this is what makes him invisible to you.

You're an absolutely horrendous judge of talent if you're serious and not taking the piss here.

Way too many around here were scape goating Mahony despite the fact the kid was barely 18.

His workrate and defensive pressure have just about been consistently the best of anyone in our side this year and his standout trait - his decision making and ball use, will only get better with more games and feeling like he really belongs.

When fit and firing there won't be a player our forwards would rather have kicking to them apart from maybe Tarryn.

Super unselfish player, always looking to keep the ball moving and to take the best option. His willingness to do the 1%ers and tackle whomever is there to be hit, belies his physical readiness and stature.
Today he even tried to tackle Mumford.. big ups young fella

Yep and his repeat efforts are sure to be highlighted in the game review as the standard all should aspire to.

Nobody knows if Jack will turn out to be great player or not, but he will try his guts out for the club and be respected and admired for his efforts as a person as much for his footy.

On the other hand, adults that repeatedly hang shit on young people online, ad nauseum, are like dog turds on the footpath of life.

On Pixel 4a using BigFooty.com mobile app

His youthfulness is a surprise because on tv he looks older and possibly creates a perception that he is experienced.

Like I knew blokes in Year 12 who had beards.

And then you look at Powell and he’s at the other end of the scale.

Anyway he’s a keep for me; has something that we haven’t seen since the young LT and Campbell brought pressure into our fwd line

He’s a tough little bugger.

Reminds me a bit of Patch.
That’s probably why I love the way he plays because I loved the way Patch played.
