He's good but ffs how can his set shot routine not have improved? Boggles the mind.

I usually sit 3rd level, but upgraded to North End this year. At ground level it is really obvious that the moans of the crowd when he lines up for goal would be audible from the playing field. He doubts himself every time because it has been so highly publicised.

As he is a professional, it is up to him to get over the doubters and just kick the goals (as he supposedly does at training), but hearing the wave of negativity from the crowd every time he lines up a shot would surely be putting him off. He may be a professional, but he is human too.

At this point I'd like to point out that I am not a Lindsay fanboy and I get just as frustrated as anyone about his set shots, but as I said, enough with the constant bad-mouthing from our own "supporters".

Yep, was one of our best tonite.

Whilst I agree re tonight - we still we lost by 2 points and he kicked one out on the full from 20m out slight angle. Momentum sapping, confidence sapping moment. again. When you end up missing finals by 1 game or % or whatever minute margin, these things add up and shouldn't be totally disregarded.

He wasn't alone but he also made some shocking blues in the 1st half - the kick off the ground which ended up going the full length of the ground for a goal was genuinely cowardly.

Still 6 tackles... can't ask for more than that.

Can't disagree with the OP, although I wouldn't be using DT points as a guide. SC or Champion Data stats are more accurate, where he didn't fare as well.

But yeah, if it's a question of asset or liability, I reckon he's worth persisting with as he does add value to the cause, despite his weaknesses.

I agree. Almost left the DT points out, but I included them purely because he was our highest ranked player, which surprised even myself.

I never look at stats or points to form judgement, but after the things I've heard/read tonight, I had to have a look.

Definately agree, was by far not our worst player.

Was very close to our best. They hammered him in the telecast but he shagged one kick for his only downside.

Lindsay was decent. No problems with his game at all.

If he is that valuable to the team, play him on the half back line, put someone else in who can kick straight.

We can't afford to be mister bice guy forever playing this charity case.

Thomas was probably in our top 5 or 6 players. Apart from missing the soda (which is a concern) he was pretty good.
He was good overall.

BUT he missed that soda. Also took a mark 45 out in the 2nd 1/4. Rather than have a shot, he tried a short pass...........that hit a defender on the chest. We just can't afford to squander shots at goal like that.

Cost us games last year. Unless something changes, will continue to cost us games this year.

He was good tonight, lindsay puts in alot of effort. While some of hes set shots piss me off a little bit hes a decent player.

Hes just one of those guys who gets the blame for everything among the fans.

I thought he played a pretty good game too.
The problem is early on he was playing in our forward line and the bloke is the worst set shot kick at goal i have ever seen. So even if he is 30 meters out you still think he will kick a point and in effect cause a turnover.

IMO this is the coaches fault and not his. If a player has no idea how to kick a goal why on earth would you play him forward? Just makes no sense.

So in the 2nd half he played more up the ground on the wing and actually looked pretty good and passed it in a few times.
He was one of our better players but it's those woeful shots at goal early on that you just know he will not get that has everyone pleading for Brad to just move him away form the goals.

Enough is obviously enough in this case. I would find it hard to believe that Brad will still persevere with him as a deep forward after tonight. Play him on a wing no problem.

I feel like writing one of those Granny letters to Brad saying "why don't you do a Neon Leon to Lindsay and have him coming off the half back flank" - Goal kicking would not be an issue then

I agree about the goal kicking.

If the yips continue its hard to justify giving him a game as a small forward.

He gets a game purely on the basis that he's in our dozen best players.

Who is he keeping out of the side?

You had better sober up and have an honest look at our list.

Do it.

Well the 2 point loss was luck, this was a typical 6 goal loss only for an essendon fadeout.

Good sides don't fade out.

They were genuinely panicking in the last 5-10 minutes and were solely preoccupied with killing the ball.
