If LT plays like he did yesterday then he definitely has a spot in the team, the guy has X factor and his two goals in the run were high quality. Just don't give him a set shot and he will be fine.

Yeah, I thought the one he took from 55m was a little bit over the top.

NAB Cup Round 1 Richmond & Hawthorn 1 . 1

LT should get 18 goals for the year. More disturbing will be his lack of form. In and out of the team for the year he will, as he always has done, show glimpses of brilliance, but they will be few and far between. BS will not tolerate this.

Sorry LT is not a long term player for north.

Forward pocket players do not play at an exceptionally outstanding level every week, in fact they'd be lucky to do it once every 3-4 weeks. Lindsay Thomas is also not just a forward pocket specialist, he can play a number of roles, but due to certain circumstances he's been pigeon holed over the last 2 years.
Of course...we being in the inner sanctum would know all the finer details of what actually occurs behind the closed doors, and what's expected of him on a weekly basis.
Their job would be to tackle well, which Lindsay does, to create space for taller forwards, which LT also does, to set up scoring assists, which he does reasonably well, and to kick a minimum of a goal per week.... Yes kicked only 21 last year, but he also kicked 36 behinds and god knows how many out on the full.
Yes, he sometimes tries to milk a free kick, but who doesn't? all players whinge and sook and dive, even Wayne Carey at times.
Surely he has already hit rock bottom, he cannot sink any lower than what he has had to deal with over the past 12 months, so he will not be in and out of the team, because quite simply he's our best option for the time being, and at 23 years of age, he will become more mature/AFL ready - to silence his critics.

He cannot get 25 possys, 8 marks and kick 3 goals per game, it's impossible.
We've had some horrific, shithouse kicks at goal over the years, as every club has.
Jack Ziebell has been an average shot for goal since he started his career, but everybody loves him now.
Let's give the bloke a break, we've all played some sort of footy and it's bloody hard to even get a shot on goal, let alone kick it through the big sticks (unless you're Twinkletoes of course)

I'd be more concerned over our taller forwards (not necessarily dish) coming through and kicking some goals, because if Drew Petrie does get injured again, then what?
I've had more than my fair share of cracks at Lindsay, not always bagging him, just more in frustration and being ignorant, when we lose the tight ones.... but enoughs enough, get behind him before he decides to piss off to another club and dominate.
He's been loyal so far and hasn't to my knowledge, asked to get out of the club. He is North Melbourne, he's a part of this current group striving for success, he's our annoying headache for opposition clubs when he's on.
Go Roos!

So what your saying is your happy with whatever he producers and we should lay off him because its a tough position?

The thread title is how many goals do you think LT will kick. I said 18. I don't think anything less than 30 should be acceptable. If he averages 3 kicks a game and those all are goals...he has done his job.

Last year Mark Lecras kicked 45...I think that's a great season for small forward. 30 goals should be a pass mark for LT....i think he will kick 18.

Cheers TC. No matter how often I turn up to training to display my skills I can't get a look in as a VERY mature aged recruit though unfortunately.

So I guess we all agree that he should kick around the 34 goal make when you average it out.

Wright is a forward and should play there. If you knew anything you would know that LA has been spending plenty of time playing forward both last year and this preseason. But I know you know nothing.

LA has spent most of the preseason in the backs last year he didnt much time anywhere

Whatever...

2012: 2.2 against Dogs, 1.0 against Blues.

2011: 13 games for 9.8 with 5 GA's. Not bad for someone that didnt much time anywhere.

Agree with his value 13 games was due to injury im an LA lover, the issue was his training as a forward this was not fact yet used as such. His goal assist ability is undoubtable averaging 9th in our team last year. Yes he played 13 of the first 15 Games and is a ball magnet and powerfull offencive game but was found out going the other way last year after his round 16 ankle injury did not reappear. So far this year has been a different player seems to have gained a number of yards speed wise and has become strong defencively I expect him to have a stand out year but would expect him to either tag or HBF the damage he has going forward has been enhanced by his defencive work.

For those that are wonderin' I'm not Lindsay Thomas, have now been asked twice.:D

I although wouldn't mind being a North footballer, would certainly celebrate every goal with flair that Peter Allen would have trouble matching even with his puffy sleeved shirts and maracas.

"Oh when my baby....

My Prediction, for what it's worth, is that he will have a ratio of 2 goals for every behind during the season.

I'm looking at 46 goals, 23 behinds.

It's not a precise science, I just hope L.T's goal kicking is.
