Obviously really enjoyed his game.
Hopefully we can structure up in a way where he can keep getting those opportunities outside 50.
It's a weapon.

Tactically we need to get him around the 50 more at set shots, either for a 15m pass to him when we can't find a kick inside 50, or as a diversion that will draw the opposition out needing to man him and might free up another guy inside.

Been saying for years this bloke should be played as an attacking winger. Finds the pill no matter where he plays, decent overhead, can be accountable when needed. His run and carry and long penetrating kicks would set up so many goals especially against your Lever, May, Moore, Stewart types cos he'd just bypass them. And imagine him having free reign to ping from 50-60 out half a dozen times a game.

He'd be unstoppable and his direct opponent would be too wary of getting embarrassed by him to cut loose too much. Instead we've got McIntosh and his weapon of running up and back and 10 possies (half on the full or direct turnovers). Would love to see a game against a cellar dweller with Banks and Short on the wings.

I think he's going pretty well off half back...

Just done some calculations based on expected scoring probabilities only. An AFL player nailing 5 from 5 from outside 50 as Short has done is somewhere in the vicinity of a 1 in 600 chance.

One in every 9 goals scored by both teams in our last 2 matches has been Short from outside 50. One in every 5 kicked by Richmond.

The 50 metre arc is now officially known as the Short Circuit. :)

Hey, have any of you guys realised how funny it is that his name is SHORT ...... and he kicks the ball a LONG way?

I just thought of that.

I might post that to Channel 7.
Would be really funny if every time he kicks the ball a decent distance they say short goes long
