16 minute quarters

16 minute quarters seem to have produced the opposite of what the change was supposed to do. Large parts of games are effectively stalemate. That seems to have remained, and the exciting entertaining minutes seem to have diminished in number. It was supposed to be the stalemate standoff minutes which were to be less

The amount of games in which a team scored below 50 was diabolical.

The amount of games you felt where dead when a team opened up a 3-4 goal lead was diabolical.

Also due to lack of fatigue the games rarely got stretched also diabolical.

No matter what the shift of quarter time is our training will shift with it, thought that was a significant negative to us when hub life happened to.

Fitness was a point of difference for us so will be good to see if it can come back

I don't think it was meant to produce a style change. It was more about the recovery of players to be able to play a large amount of games in rapid succession.

I can see NO reason not to go back to 20 minutes next year.

If they try to fob us off with 18 minutes, we need to fire up.

Make a lot of noise, it's the Wagon Wheels school of profit; gradually shrink the size of the product, while maintaining the same price.

20 minutes or they can GAGF

You've said this a couple of times.

Why?

Hate it mate. Makes the game incredibly long, and places a bit of dead time into each quarter. Attending most hawks home games over the 5-10 years and have noticed it creeping further out.

For me the sweet spot is around 25-28 minute quarters (30 max). I appreciate the endurance aspect of the game, and think it can be achieved via 18 minute quarters, but have constantly felt some games getting to the stage of bordering being too long (2019 and before).

28 - 32 mins for me.

Of course I'm living vicariously through other people so every minute counts...

18 minute + time on is still my pick.

Nothing worse than 33-35 minute quarters.

That's still a rare event unless a major injury happens or something.

Usually it's between 28-32 mins IMO which I think is perfect.

16 minute quarters seemed to encourage dead time if anything. Failed in that regard. The afl will change it from 2019. Nothing surer
