16 minute quarters seem to have produced the opposite of what the change was supposed to do. Large parts of games are effectively stalemate. That seems to have remained, and the exciting entertaining minutes seem to have diminished in number. It was supposed to be the stalemate standoff minutes which were to be less
I don't think it was meant to produce a style change. It was more about the recovery of players to be able to play a large amount of games in rapid succession.16 minute quarters seem to have produced the opposite of what the change was supposed to do. You've said this a couple of times.18 minute + time on is still my pick.
Nothing worse than 33-35 minute quarters.
You've said this a couple of times.
Why?
28 - 32 mins for me.Hate it mate. Makes the game incredibly long, and places a bit of dead time into each quarter. Attending most hawks home games over the 5-10 years and have noticed it creeping further out.
For me the sweet spot is around 25-28 minute quarters (30 max). I appreciate the endurance aspect of the game, and think it can be achieved via 18 minute quarters, but have constantly felt some games getting to the stage of bordering being too long (2019 and before).
