Spud has been excellent all year and I'm not prepared to drop him on the back of one bad game.

His contribution in 2013 shits all over Atleys.

Can't argue with that. The problem is that Spud is prone to one or two bad mistakes a game and the opposition knows it. For us to take the next step, we need to eradicate these errors. And Spud ain't gonna be there in two years.
You are 100% right, he's generally been one of our best this year and on form holds his spot, but we need to be building our next premiership team, and sadly he won't be part of it.

Someone like Hine.

He's one kid who came in and played hard and to my eyes did everything right. Not sure why he had to make way.

The perfect replacement for any small defender or defensive mid on the chopping block.

For sheer competitiveness Hine, Greenwood and the revitalised L.Delaney should be getting spots this week.

It won't happen that way of course. Brad will make them do a shuttle run then do an orienteering exercise in the Dandenongs.

A team consisting of Atley, MacMillan, Wright (and Mabon) will reach the end first, show 'great leadership' and the 1st 3 will earn 20 extra senior game tokens.

I honestly can't work out why Hine is out of the side.

Slightly unusual time to sign, after playing one of his worst games ever. Sammy has some class, there is no doubt, but he also has some major limitations. Hope for his sake that those limitations won't end his career.

Good on you Sammy for showing faith in the club.

I've queried Sam's recent form but hell, form is temporary.

He's a smart talented player and a good guy within the group.

I always admire guys like this who show some love for the club and make their first preference to sign on rather than jack us around or worse walk out.
