AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
I went to all Geelong's losing GF's. It builds character!
I remember thinking when we lost to North in round 5 2007, it was really deflating and I actually started to consider, for the first time ever, that maybe I wouldn't see a flag in my lifetime.
Then we played Richmond in round 6, and the rest as they say...
Hang in there, it will happen. Lyon is an excellent coach. You have a strong list-injuries wrecked your chances this year.
2012 and 13 wow just as bad as Hawthorn fans at handling victory.
2014 the level of Geelong vitriol went up ten fold. Guess who the main offenders are? It ain't North.
That's why we take pleasure in seeing Freo remain at 0 flags. If you won 1, imagine how bad it would get.
Haha I sat through all the 119 too and didn't relax till about 10 minute mark of last quarter! You think that builds character?
I sat through all 119 pts
Nice to see my posting didn't scar you too badly buddyGreat game Port - glad to see the purple hazers get done, especially on behalf of the following 'gentlemen' (a.k.a. trolls) from the Geelong vs. North thread last night
Enjoy your night clogged Spoken4 Mezz and Pusswah. Thanks to your blokes, we're no longer the last top 4 team to bow out in 'straight sets'.
The day Ross Lyon coaches a premiership with his rubbish game style is the day I stop following football.
I find these generalisations ridiculous. All Geelong supporters are like this, no Geelong supporter has ever given credit to another club.I can explain why that happens. Geelong are disgusting losers. The moment anyone beats you, especially in a final, your supporters attack them relentlessly until other supporters have no option but to start giving it back. That is precisely what happened after the 2008 GF. Most Hawks people were fine with Geelong but grew very tired of the Geelong crap. One thing you will never hear from the Geelong club is "we were beaten by a better team on the day". On this forum, no matte what the subject, almost every Geelong post contained a dig at the Hawks.
You want an example of how childish Geelong supporters really are? A lifetime mate has only just started talking to me this year, that's 6 years after his cats were beaten in the GF. We can only talk if we don't talk football. And, he still hasn't paid me the money he lost on the bet we had on the game. My own brother avoided me for over 6 months after the loss, and to this day we don't talk footy. Cats fans are the greatest sooks in the AFL, without doubt.
Lol I've seen a couple of them using it now. It goes to show a fit list helps, just a fact and a reason.
However we hardly used the excuse after last years prelim and Hawthorn are the absolute KINGS of injury excuses.
I remember the port loss. Boy oh boy were you lot having a cry.
This time you are injury free though so should win. See how it matters?

Do you honestly believe this?
Not me, I wanted you guys to win it all. Get that bloody cup as far away as possible.
But now I'm hanging for a port - North Melbourne grand final!
Why? Well I don't know many north fans (does anybody?) and Port don't get backing from the AFL!
(Just stick to your own jumper guys)

And fair enough too,We would....if the AFL would let us wear it.
Great win, annihilated early, but grabbed their second chance.
Won't get mentioned, but thought Pittard was the only one with any composure early.
Don't feel so bad now having watched Port fill their daks early just like Richmond did.
Meh it's a selection bias, I bet there were many Geelong fans who were humble in defeat that day but you only remember the negative ones which is fine. There were many North fans who were humble friday night too but unfortunately the 4-5 I read on here who were just disrespectful and insulting in their gloating have left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope my judgement doesn't stick as long as yours does.
I think that says a lot more about the character your brother is than cats fans btw.
Well that's just blatantly wrong, Chris Scott said in his press conference that "we were beaten by the better team on the night"Your coach and captain can't even say we were beaten by a better side today/tonight

See now you're peddling backwards, first you just made up something without checking the facts and now upon being proven wrong its all about his attitude when you clearly couldn't have watched the press conference otherwise you wouldn't have made your statement up.Did he, oh... Go back and watch his whole attitude. It was all about how bad they were not about how good the Roos were. Compare that to Ross Lyons presser.
I'm just re watching Scott's presser no, 25 seconds in and it's already showing.... More to comeSee now you're peddling backwards, first you just made up something without checking the facts and now upon being proven wrong its all about his attitude when you clearly couldn't have watched the press conference otherwise you wouldn't have made your statement up.
What?Port were allowed to do a lot of off the ball stuff tonight with no penalty. They won't be allowed to use those tactics next week against a Victorian side. Will go down by 60+
Enjoy the frustration of the AFL site videos and not being able to rewind and fast forward . Honestly why bother, you already have a predisposition and because attitude is something that's subjective you wont alter your view. Note the bit where he says their skilled players kicked very good goals and wasn't from a lack of pressure, hardly arrogant I'd say.I'm just re watching Scott's presser no, 25 seconds in and it's already showing.... Wow.Wow, a bitter geelong supporter. Who'da thought.
PA started the game holding players out of contests and finished the same way. Had the rules actually been applied, they would not have even been close.
