I used to think that we needed to keep this guy as he'd play better as the team got better
But he's just an absolute shadow now. Lost his confidence and his inability to crack in is just not a good look.
The younger guys are just a better investment now

I think he'll be on very shakey ground at the year end reviews

Has a year to run on his contract.

I would be bringing forward some of his salary under this years cap to give us some flexibility of movement at the end of the year.

agreed. Don't think he'd be on big coin now anyway. If we have to keep him ,then he can play in the 2's,provide some depth and you never know, he might even come right

I thought he was alright when he came on🤷‍♂️

Think he’s a decent sub choice.
He's a devisive character, that's for sure.

I suspect that coming on as sub in a game that's been played at the level of Sunday's match was, when Collingwood threw the kitchen sink at North in the last quarter would challenge most players. He took a decent mark, he actually tackled and unfortunately, he shanked a kick at goal that would have been nice if he'd landed it.

Not specifically a point about this guy, but the sub is outright stupid. I get the concept, but we have "fixtures" where the VFL are playing at different venues, they have additional byes etc. so selecting a player as sub can actually be detrimental to their development or continuity. AFL, make a smart decision for once and just allow the extra man on the bench to be a part of the normal rotation. While you're at it, implement a send off rule at AFL level for violent acts that are reported.

Agree was definitely thinking of Robbie Flower watching him yesterday.

Can only assume Jaidyn is skinny and planning on opening a sports store because I'm struggling to spot any other common qualities.

I generally don't mind him but he had a poor quarter at the office.
He actually had half his average possessions for a game in that quarter, took three marks, one of which was pretty good and made a couple of tackles. If he'd managed to kick that goal instead of shitting the bed we'd be having a different conversation.

But he didn't manage it so its a mark against him.

He was alot more involved for that quarter than he usually is in a quarter but I tend to agree with the people who say drop him for most of the season.

Fair enough. He took a decent contested mark but it's hard to fairly mark him after his appalling set shot.

He needed to kick that. He won the RS off the back of his goal kicking and kicked two important goals early in a GF.

I don't necessarily believe he had to kick it, but sheesh at least make the distance, its the equivalent of a pro golfer leaving a tornament put 3 foot short.
Why the duck do we have someone like him in the team or even worse as our sub?
A Sub needs to be a type of that’s a game changer , with run & not afraid to make a statement.
This 🐱 is the absolute opposite… he’s got zero confidence, is afraid of any sort of contact & seems disinterested. If we all see it what can’t our selection committee?!
Have a look at the immediate impact Fordy has had when he’s come in as the sub! I’m not saying Fordy needs to be a sub because he’s in my best 22 easily. But we need anyone but 🐱 Sleevo.

My ranking of small and medium forwards (currently):

1. Curtis
2. Ford
3. Duursma
4. Taylor
5. Stephenson
6. Drury
7. Harvey
8. Hansen Jr

Stephenson is talented but he's slipped down the pecking order now. We have some decent depth and good prospects in the position.

Dunno why your quoting me, i reckon he is a cat and his best footy is well behind him.

I also can see clarko and co have shown a lot of patience with a few of the players i would have dropped.

I havnt ever coached an afl side let alone a successful one so iam prepared to accept they likely know a hell of a lot better than me.

So maybe showing loyalty is simply the reason?

I think the view that he is talented is based on a fairly distant past. I see no particular traits that are above average.

I don't rate Drury at all, but I trust his effort. Don't really see much in Harvey, but would be fine for him to play instead, too.

This bloke just lets you down time and time again when it matters. Enough of that.
