+1 to posters who are torn on this. He obviously had the talent, just never seemed to get it together for long periods of time.

Don't understand why we have to pay out the contract though, if it was a career ending injury and can't play anymore, I could understand that 100%. But he chose to retire.

Wouldn’t have retired otherwise, and North don’t need the distraction of someone moping around with the media constantly asking questions about him.

He’s talented enough to play for anyone.

No one would go near him without him showing 100% commitment to playing football at a lower level next year. Theres just too much talent around.

I can only assume they were blindsided, it sounded like 2 months ago he was going to retire flip flopped to staying and then all of a sudden flipped back

or maybe they knew and are becoming more disciplined regarding posting this kinda stuff?

This is one area where things have really improved at the club, its not leaking like a sieve anymore, gone are the weekly embarrassments fueled by the likes of TT.
