I dont want to go full-Richmond (never go full Richmond as they say), but Hocking would not just be coming with his own ideas of what the club needs to do to do well. He would be coming with significant intel about other clubs programs and tactics.Either assistants all walked or were pushed - both not great, fresh ideas needed but this is an exodus or clean out.
Something makes me feel Scotty is being told he has to accept entering his last year without an extension
I hope scotty can be supported to be the Geelong person he claims to be and pass the Batton -
Radio silence could be Yze or Giansiracusa both assistants in granny- being selected as in coming coach with a transition year with Scotty-
At least I ******* hope so
We can’t extend Scotty over the summer- we can let him fight for his job in his last year and we can explore late next year but fu** me let’s have some bravery and put the club first
If Scott loves Geelong he will be willing to do either of the above and it’s his choice

It’s not like he’s an administrator who only sees the surface level of how a club operates in its match prep and execution. As an ex-player and with his previous role at Geelong, where he worked closely with the coaches and oversaw them- probably gives him significant capability in analysing other clubs and who has cutting edge advantages at this very time. Plus he would have been reviewing those clubs programs, and chatting with their coaches all the time.
