Talk is grigg will get an elevated position (midfield coach?), and the club has already identified some targets to fill the assistants roles.

Quote from simon lloyd “we have identified some strong talent externally”.
His brother would be great as a fwd coach, just ask Matty.

“I’m hearing and thinking what they’re going to do is look at Chris Scott and say, ‘OK, are you up for a rebuild?’ Do you see this as the way that we need to go, do you share our vision in what we believe we need to do?’,” Watson said. SEN

“I think Steve Hocking is 100 per cent putting his eyes over that whole organisation from top to bottom and that’s not just the footy side of it either.

“I think the whole football club is going to get a very thorough Steve Hocking makeover” Lyon SEN

The loss has left the Cats heading into what looks to be transitional off-season, with incoming CEO Steve Hocking having already "ruffled some feathers", according to The Age's AFL reporter, Caroline Wilson.

According to Wilson, there was "dissention" between Scott and his assistants as the 2011 premiership-winning coach clashed with two players-turned-coaches, Matthew Scarlett and Corey Enright.

If what Wilson says is correct, there are 2 implications
- It was Scott who effectively offed Scarlett and Enright, not Hocking, and
- They are recruiting new assistants who can work with Scott, because he's staying

Probably likely

But who is the catalyst of the game plan? I know it should fall to Scott but there's been plenty of suggestion that a lot of the style and slow defensive stuff was Scarlett's doing

Would be good to get Hartlett in as a development coach to take Grigg's former role (if Grigg gets promoted). Very highly respected here in SA.

Lappin staying:

But his commitment to Geelong is welcome news at GMHBA Stadium, with football manager Simon Lloyd saying Lappin was one of the best exponents of his craft across the AFL.

“Nigel Lappin will be at the club next year,” Lloyd said.

“We have had a commitment from Nigel that he will be at the club moving forward.

“Nige is highly qualified and one of the leading assistants in the game.”

Glad he's staying, highly regarded.

He might like that- from what was said, a big reason for leaving Hawks was missing out on the captaincy.

Well one person we will again miss out on is Buddha..

To be an assistant coach? Absolutely.
Disagree.
He is only required to be, say, a specialist forward coach.
But he also has extensive Fox commitments.
We had Brad Johnson with us some seasons ago, who also had media commitments. Nobody who is a specialist coach would be full-time employed, specially after and during the upheavals with Covid.

If he’s to be our “forward line coach” isn’t that by definition an assistant coach? A specialist coach is more like a ruck coach. That could be done on a part time basis.

What did Danger and Chappy have a run in about?
Chapman won’t go near the club with SHocking hanging around. It’s those 2 where the trouble is.
Chappy asked CS some years ago on K Rock who his favourite #35 was. CS was very diplomatic. He said past players- Chappy, current players- Danger.
My comment was tongue in cheek.

Whatever it takes to get him on board to help our forwards. Actually, Hawkins himself should be able to handle that with Cameron on board.
