In 2-years he’ll be 26yo. He’ll be a 196cm player capable of averaging a dozen disposals, 4 marks and a goal a game with a bit of ruckwork or defensive cover.

He’s not getting delisted as he’s 196cm tall.

This current draft crop, together with next years, and the one from a couple of years back need protection to develop whilst we get 50, 70, 100 games into them.

Kozi is more important to us than most people think, despite his obvious deficiencies.

Could be a chance he cops a suspension depending on how it plays out, even if he is acquitted in court the AFL might not like him fighting like when Rioli and Bolton got into a fight a few years ago and copped a massive fine

Not saying it WILL happen but it wouldn’t be out of the question

If it was a slam dunk, I’m wondering why he hasn’t been stood down already (either by Richmond or the AFL)…? And if he gets acquitted, I don’t think the AFL can come over the top of that…

What protection did Richo & Jack have ?
Lefau , Lynch are more than enough protection up front and Miller . Young , Blight down back

Kosi is just backup for the reserves

List and salary cap management means that for every marquee player earning close to a million dollars: Lynch, Tarranto, Prestia.... you also need players content enough to run around in the VFL on minimum dollars but can perform a basic role at AFL level if injury/suspension requires it.
Currently Balta is our only KPD lock in the backline.
I'd like it to ultimately be Gibcus & Trainor who join him back there, but there's a fair bit of unknown over those 2.
So, what is the rough ranking order for the others in contention to play key back?
Miller, Blight, Young, Koschitzke for me at the moment, with Broad my preferred back-up as the 3rd tall.
Provided Gibcus & Trainor come good, you probably only keep 2 or 3 of them on the list.

Koschitzke also a back-up for forward, where at the moment we have Lynch as a lock for a few games over the next year or two, then a very raw and unknown hierarchy including Ryan, Bauer, Lefau, Fawcett, Gray, Armstrong, Faull, Simms, Koschitzke, Miller.

Why would they stand him down? Even if he does get a conviction (highly unlikely) they won’t stand him down. The AFL will issue a fine/suspension after the court hearing. My guess he’ll get fined for affray at court with no conviction recorded. AFL will then issue a fine and possible few weeks holiday. He won’t be stood down.

No he won’t, the guy is so overrated. Mind you, he does play well against the poorer sides, just flops when it matters

Started 2024 with just standing around and watching contests in front of him to now going into the contests and looking for the ball (at least in the training vision from the Ryan goal). Will keep a spot in the team if he doesn't drop his head and stays in contests.

He will eventually win a few of them.

This might seem strange but I honestly see Kozitski as an important player for our rebuild. Not to be in our next premiership team, but to help us get through the rebuild era. Form and fitness permitting, he is a depth player. He should be reaching his peak playing age. For the short term if he can improve slightly and fill holes as a utility he will be valuable. He can play forward, Ruck and hopefully in defence. So if a player on one of those lines is getting humbled by an opponent, or injury strikes he can step in and help. To me he gets named on the bench and plays in any of those positions when needed... With Balta out he may need to play back from round 1 which is ok. Gives him experience in the position. Anyway just my opinion but hopefully he is serviceable and improves in 2025....
