From memory Sal played nine games before he did his shoulder, so he's got two chances to get a nomination.

Not sure what you meant by this...however if you are referring to not being eligble for Rising Star if you play more then 11 games, I am pretty sure that that is at the start of the season and not in total for the year. Hence regardless when Salopak gets nominated he will be eligible for the Rising Star next year.

For comparison purposes Quentin Lynch from WCE has played 11 games over two seasons and is still eligble for Rising Star award.

Cheers

**** a non Essendon supporting mentions Courtney Johns.

He's been talked up unfairly he's still only 19. And wil take time, he has alot of ability though.

Doubt he's capable of wining it next year, Although if he's half as good as they hype, then he'll be a good smokey.

It would be interesting to see in what year of their AFL career and how old the player was when they won the Rising star

I think Kosi and Buckley won it straight up (1st year player 17 years old) while Mitchell was a bit older

Can anyone put together a list of players who have won with their age and how many years they had been playing when they won it ?

Haselby won it in his first season, though I think he was 18 when he won it.

stakers a dead cert

Staker's a real good kid for the eagles and is a dead cert to get a nomination. A good pre-season will do wonders for him. He reminds me of Mitchell White before we off-loaded him to those suckers at Kardinya Park. Agree that Q. Lynch could also score if the real smiling assassin gives him a go next year. The big bloke could be anything..

Does any know how many No#1 have actually one it?

for my 2 bobs worth young Browne from the Dockers will come through the ranks next season. Played a couple of good games pre season and early in the season, sent back to Claremont to polish up a little. ( Probably hamstrung a little with bluey McKennas coaching) but the kid will come through next season. Dont be surprised to see him at the bottom of the packs and he can kick them from outside 50mts

Callum Urch from the Kangaroos.

Wrath

The usual suspects - Cooney, Salopek, a host of names from St. Kilda etc... would probably be in the running to win it...

The only Hawk with any chance to win the thing would be Rick Ladson, but he is probably another year away from cutting up the opposition from a wing.

Yeah I forgot about Brennan. He will be right up there if he can break into the Lions team for good.

although he has played less then 10 games he has won a nomination and therefore can't win another 1.

When did they change the rules? Have they asked Duncan Kellaway (Rd15 93 & Rd24 94) , Craig Callaghan (Rd16 95 & Rd22 96), Michael Braun (Rd14 97 & Rd 1 98)and Luke Power (Rd 2 98 & Rd 17 99) to hand back their second nominations yet?

St Kilda supporters was Riewoldt nominated twice, ie in 2001 and 2002?

Sorry - can't tell you for sure but I dont recollect him getting a nomination in 2001, mind you he didn't play many games.

I want to put Lochlan Veale's name up for possible rising star.

Surely he must be a chance if he is worth ND pick #6 and Mark Alvey put together. Has had a year of development....

Seriously, I think the best chance from St Kilda next year would be Jason Gram. He has a developmental edge on some of the younger players.
