i kno its a bit early to say, but i cant realy see the bombers gettin pick 1 or 2. pick 4 or 5 looks more likely where the bombers will finish. An if they need a top midfield player who wuld you suggest if rich is gone??

Nick Suban or De Boer would suit us fine. I'd be temped to pick up Hurley if we have pick 4-5 though and worry about the midfielder with our 2nd and 3rd rounder.

also folks.. surely the top 4 is settled now (barring injury or dramatic form drop off)

Naitanui, Rich, Hurley and Watts.. surely a lock in? (not necessarily that order)

I haven't seen much of Watts, is he a better prospect than Cornelius from Tassie..?

IMO i wouldnt even think about comparing Cornelius to Jack Watts, Jack is that far in front of Cornelius at this stage that he is a lot better prospect than him. Watts has kicked 11 goals in the first 3 games of the carnival and taken numerous contested marks up forward in packs of 4 or 5. Watts is also very athletic as he has a basketball background...I wouldnt be suprised at all if this kid goes number 1 as both Rich and Natanui arent having that good of a carnival and Jack Watts is really stepping up and showing he can play at this level

Eagles wouldnt pass on Natanui, We would just use him as a midfielder as opposed to a ruckman. He got 10 clearances on the weekend. Imagine a 200cm clearance winning machine. Would be untaggable.

spot on embers. thats why i don't see anyone passing on him at number 1.. he won't fail.. he might not turn out to be a dominant ruckman but he'll find somewhere on the ground to dominate.. he could seriously play anywhere.. theres just too much upside to say no

In saying that....he chops up the ball but, at AFL level he would have to be a tap ruckman at the start until they can develop his kicking game then he could become a major ball winner...but not a the monent...he still butches the ball and his kicking does let him down abit...but the effort he puts in and his work around stoppages is second to none.

His kicking really isnt that bad. I imagine in his role as a clearance machine hes gonna be feeding out alot of handballs anyway.

Is Zaharakis a good enough kick to go top 15?

Is Zaharakis a good enough kick to go top 15?

IMO he is a good enough kick to go top 15 in the draft...he has improved a lot on his kicking from last year...it was a bit questionable last year with his effectiveness but this year in the TAC CUP he has generated 69 effective kicks and 25 ineffective from only 5 games...
and from champion data in game one of the nationals against country he had 12 effective kicks and 0 ineffective
His first 3 games of the championships have been really good, he must be climbing up the draft chart and could sneak in the top 15

You may be right with top 4.

Any chance Demons could choose Watts over Natanui?

Melbourne - Watts
Eagles - Natanui
Freo - Rich
????? - Hurley (I think Port,Carlton & Bombers would all like Hurley)

Looking at fixture Port may end up 13th.

i personally don't see anybody passing on NickNat because imo it would be Buddy > Tambling version 2.0.. but you never know.. Watts looks a good prospect.. but as i've stated before, once the media hype surrounds a kid they nearly always go #1.. remember Riewoldt, Cooney, Deledio, Murphy, Gibbs, Kruezer etc.?? the media circus arrives and once they've found their man he is pretty much a lock-in number one because teams are afraid of passing on him coz they'll look like ass's if he dominates

Who is a better player? Trengrove or McKernan? Who is tougher? Who can actually play CHF?

Who is quickest? Who is more agile? Who takes the better contested mark? Who is the better tackler? - lock the ball in the forward line?

Who has the body to put on more weight?

Which of the 2 would you - want playing on your side / not against you? - who would get you over the line in a big match?

Thanks!

i,ll take mckernan........ as a chf

i think Natanui would be a huge risk. I've only seen clips of him, and his jump is sensational, but by the sounds of things that is about all he is, a super athlete. Don't get me wrong, a good tap ruckman is very important, but around the ground it is hard to teach someone where and where not to go. He could turn out to be a great player, but he could easily turn out to be very average.

Rich looks a ready made midfielder, who ever gets first crack at him between Freo and West Coast will take him. Sounds like a hard nut, would comparing him to Joel Selwood be fair??
