1. Richmond - I'm going for an "out there" ladder, as these things are never accurate.
2. Geelong. - Still have a solid midfield. Will be more hungry after the loss.
3. Port Adelaide. - Massive under performers last year, very dangerous team.
4. Western Bulldogs - Will be similar to last year.
5. Essendon - Hawthorn of 2007 (I don't expect this to happen ;))
6. Hawthorn - Crippled by injuries. Teams worked out how to beat the cluster.
7. St Kilda - I expect them to slide.
8. North Melbourne - Hard to predict, they could be top or bottom four. Therefore 8th.
9. Sydney - Again, hard to predict. They won't be fantastic but they won't be bad.
10. Adelaide - Same as North and Sydney.
11. Carlton - Don't see where the improvement will come from.
12. West Coast - don't deserve to be this low. They're blooding the young players.
13. Collingwood - I don't know about this, they could be 1st they could be 16th.
14. Fremantle - See Collingwood.
15. Brisbane - First year coach and I think they will get injuries to key players.
16. Melbourne - Pulling a Carlton.

Premiers: Western Bulldogs.
Runner up: Port Adelaide.
Rising Star: David Myers
Brownlow: Adam Goodes

1) Geelong - Clearly the best team, no arguments here
2) Richmond - Looked so good towards then end of last year and will only improve
3) Hawthorn - The premiers are all class will stay near the top
4) Carlton - Gibbs and Murph to hit their potential this year, add in Judd and Fev and there something special brewing
5) North Melbourne - Will defy predictions of a slide... again
6) Port Adelaide - Definitely the under performer last year will improve immensly this year
7) Collingwood - So professional that despite average list will always make finals
8) Adelaide - Finally getting some youngsters into the team and like Collingwood, too professional to miss finals
9) Sydney - Will drop off a bit as they add youth, up again next year though
10) St. Kilda - Average team, average ladder position
11) Western Bulldogs - Have a feeling they will be the big sliders this year
12) Brisbane - Development year
13) Essendon - Going nowhere year
14) West Coast - Building up a another premiership force with another year down the bottom
15) Fremantle - Joke of the AFL, no surprises where they will sit
16) Melbourne - Clearly the worst team and have to have another year down the bottom however things will improve

Brownlow: C.Judd + M.Murphy + B.Gibbs;)
Coleman: B.Fevola

Just a added a stab in the dark W-L column and have probably hopelessly allocated an incorrect W-L ratio for all teams

Geelong - Pretty obvious
Hawthorn - Early hangover, Buddy gets injured. Talent and good coaching to see them make the GF again.
Collingwood - Young brigade will take them a step closer, Cloke to become a genuine superstar of the game. Rolled in the pre-lim though.
Carlton - Will improve, can't have a side that stocked with talent and not do so. The team from the bottom 8 to make the top 4.
Western Bulldogs - Will ultimately fall short due to a lack of forward line potency. Again. Cooney to have Brownlow blues.
Brisbane - Been predicting their resurgence since 06, 09 will be the first step. Brown/Bradshaw to be the Buddy/Roughead equivalent from 08.
Richmond - Quality, even, young list, Riewoldt to kick more goals than Richardson. Deledio AA. Lack of experienced key defender limits them to bottom half of 8.
St.Kilda - Will promise much and deliver little. Again. If Ball, Kosi and Riewoldt play most of the 22 games, could be potentially higher.

-------

North Melbourne - I vowed to never again underestimate them. They are 4 spots higher than where my gut thinks they will really finish.
Port Adelaide - Should improve. Massive reliance on young key position player Alipate Carlile and Veteran Warren Tredrea.
Essendon - Should also improve, maybe not in terms of ladder position but definitely on field competitiveness. Hope to see Gumby play some games.
West Coast - Another year in the doldrums. Can't see where they will improve. Brad Ebert to get depressed and request trade to Port Adelaide at seasons end.
Sydney - Sliiiide. Simply not enough talent to get them across the line anymore, older players nearly finished. Been brave though.
Fremantle - Mediocre. First year of the re-build process. Paying the price for incredibly poor trade and recruiting decisions.
Adelaide - McLeod, Goodwin, Burton, Edwards have been the mainstay for a decade but started to deteriorate last year, 09 to be their swansong. 5 years of misery coming for the Toyota Camry Crows.
Melbourne - Just a terrible list of mid-tier AFL players. Can't see them winning more than a couple of games.

15. Bulldogs (5-17)
16. Melbourne (5-17)

1. Geelong (Unlucky in the grand final, and will still be a very dominant team)
2. Hawthorn (A close second with a very good list)
3. Richmond (Every year a team that didn't make the finals the previous year makes the top 4. That applies here. A good side to watch with a lot of future talent. They probably won't challenge for the flag this year but they will in 2010)
4. Collingwood (Always competitive and around the mark)
5. Western Bulldogs (Still the same side as last year, very unlucky to be left out of the top 4)
6. Adelaide (We're always around the mark and hopefully this year we can win a final. With our 30+ players on the decline, this year will be the year are younger players such as Walker, Dangerfield, Otten and Jacky to come out and show something. Bock, Thompson and VB to still be guns etc. we won't challenge yet but will be around here.)
7. Brisbane (With the current list they've got, they should make the finals)
8. Carlton (After years of pain they finally make it. A tad overrated on BF but should improve and make it.)
9. North Melbourne (Solid list that probably will make this finals as long as the don't drop games to dud sides like Freo and Port. Why I have them here? Don't ask me.)
10. St. Kilda (Fluked a top 4 spot last year, will however just miss out on the finals. But if Riewoldt gets injured in round 1 then are destined for a bottom 4 finish)
11. Essendon (If they have a good run with injuries than they could be a contender but I see one more year of rebuilding before being contenders in 2010)
12. Sydney (Old list, the golden era is over)
13. Fremantle (Will see slight improvement but a couple of years away yet)
14. West Coast (Will be more competitive, especially at home, but still a bottom 4 side)
15. Port Adelaide (Bunch of chokers, look forward to more flower misery)
16. Melbourne (Can't see anyone else winning the spoon other than these guys)

Better add my 2cents worth. Worth noting is that beyond the top 2, I think it will be extremely even down to about 13th, even further perhaps, so a top 4 berth beckons for teams who take their chances. Here goes:

1. Hawthorn - Will continue to improve, well coached, have a solid defense with a strong midfield and a forward line blessed with a wealth of scoring options.
2. Geelong - Will show a slight decline, it will be tough to continue playing to the level they have, but will still be up there.
3. Western Bulldogs - Will want to perform well again as premiership window will close very soon.
4. Collingwood - Nice even spread of quality young players across the ground should hold them in good stead.
5. North Melbourne - Always written off, similar to Adelaide and Sydney, but always seem to defy the odds, will probably still exit in the first round of finals.
6. Carlton - Yes they will make it, just, but I don't expect them to do much again in finals.
7. Sydney - Will defy the so called "experts" and make the finals, the older stars are still around and youngsters such as Jack, Bird and Vezpremi will benefit from another preseason.
8. Adelaide - Defence still one of the best in the league, midfield and ruck stocks more than competitive, forward line the issue as ever, our season will sink or swim on their ability to captilise on the work up the field. We will be up there again and the true depth of our young players will be displayed to all.
9. Richmond - Where else?
10. St. Kilda - Could quite easily finish top 4 again, but expect them to just miss out.
11. West Coast - Will have some quality games and I don't expect them to spend too long in this half of the ladder, but this year isn't their year.
12. Brisbane - Not certain the appointment of Voss this early post playing career was the right idea, have the cattle to challenge for a top 8 berth and that will be the only thing keeping them out of the bottom 4.
13. Port Power - If everything goes right, expect them further up the ladder, but have shown themselves to be downhill skiers in the past couple of years and with the evenness of the competition they may struggle to fight their way up the ladder.
14. Essendon - Don't really see them heading anywhere up the ladder, still too dependent on Lloyd, Lucas and Fletcher.
15. Fremantle - You can't turn over that many players and expect to be competitive, sadly for Freo fans, there'll be a bit more pain before and gain is observed.
16. Melbourne - Really don't see them moving anywhere far for a few years to come.

Gee, top 6 all Victorian teams:eek: How did I do that;) Don't like the thought of it anyways.
