WRT Richo - Rd 1 last year: He didnt play his "wingman" role.

The other Carlton game; He was probably off the ground for a good half of the game after straining his hammy.

So dont think that Carlton restricted his scores last year.

Have not heard much about him,be good if a bulldog supporter or someone that knows a bit about him could tell us how he is going this season.

Had a big preseason and looks the goods in the preseason games. He will be getting the number 1 tag to start off with though, since Cooney looks very under done. I don't think it's worth it

Opinons I have to pick three
J.Ziebell, T.Walker, C.Yarran, T.Hentchell, S.Hogan

2 are a lock in their 22... Hentschell and Walker.

Yarran is the next most likely to get games with Ziebell just behind.

Hogan will struggle unless injuries strike the Cats.

In terms of scoring potential, Ziebell is probably the best.

Yarran is hardly a stat rat and Walker and Hentschell are out and out forwards.

Hogan plays for Geelong so will score well if he plays.

Depends who you think will get the most games out of that lot. For rookies, the amount of games they play might be more important than scoring potential.

In the case of Otten, is he in the crows 22 when Symes and Van Berlo are back? I have similar doubts with Robinson and the likes of Stevens/Carrazzo/Scotland/Walker coming back in.

Mitch Brown seems a lock for the Eagles.

Ziebell is in the best 25 but is not a lock in our 22 yet. I still expect he will play 15+ games though. And I'd say he's about a 60-40 chance to play round 1.

Walker & j.Selwood v Skipworth & hasleby?
If i get walker on the field that will be 4 rookies starting leaning towards option 2, thoughts and opinions much appreciated!

You would think Hogan would get a few games, they wouldn't want the Prismall incident again.

i hav picked some playrs in my team that i am iffy about because i cant pick premiums i have to pick players between 300k and 400k

the players i have atm are
Travis Cloke (looks to be getting quite a few marks up the field this yearw ith jack anthony holding up the full forward spot)
Heath Shaw (frustrated a lot last year but with the new zoning technique doesnt look to get tagged as often)
Nathan Foley (unless i do really well and have money and trades to use he could hold up a 6th midfielder..with extra help in the midfield might get as hard a tag)

what are peoples thoughts?

IMO Cloke will either shoot up massively and become a premium or stay where he is. Depends on the role he plays. Has shown good signs in the NAB cup, but only played one game with a good defender on him.

I think teams will still try and tag Heath. Pity he didn't have more of a preseason so we could see how MM plans on handling him. To be on the safe side I'd avoid him.

Foley is quite simply not a good DT'er. He's a great player, but he handballs too often and doesn't take enough marks to be a consistently good DT'er unless he changes his role.

Thoughts on Buckley? Anyone taking the risk with him down back? He pushed into midfield 2nd half of last year and averaged 86 from Rnd 14 onwards, racking up lots of touches and likes to kick. He was in lots of teams back in summer, then everyone jumped off. Thoughts?

Still tweaking my squad - but with the availability of cheap backup ruckman it looks like most are picking both backups as cheapies (including me at the moment). What concerns me is that I usually go into a season with the thoughts that I will only do a trade in the rucks if absolutely necessary. Risking it with two less than $90,000 ruck backups that might or might not play a bit worries me because if my main 2 rucks miss out for a couple of weeks it could mean a duck egg in the score. Anyone else argue against the 2x premiums, 2x rookie ruck strategy?
