I had him, but traded him for Kruezer after R2 - the signs were there.
Its pretty unlucky though, he was supposedly flying preseason...

okay, here are my current thoughts...
- Mitch Clark too much of a sideways trade
- downgrading to rookie (Meesen) not a good idea, because i'd be stuck with Graham/Meesen/Pyke to fill my 2nd ruck spot, which would struggle to make $$$ and score points.
- can't afford Cox (even with a double trade)
- Fraser, Jolly, McIntosh have inflated ppg averages. low scores will iron them out eventually.
- Simmonds -> Hille is simply going from one underperforming ruck to another
lucky i've got Angus Graham. i'll always thought it was good strategy to take him with Simmonds. i guess i'll keep Simmo and play Graham, and weigh things up next week.

yerp, i think age is catching up with him.
it's time to lower my expectations of Simmonds09. i'm thinking he'll score around the Brendon Lade mark (ave 70-75). which probably means i'll have to keep him.
Will he play though? If Graham shows a bit, he and Pattison make a good ruck duo. Patto fills the mobile role, while Graham can be a pure tap ruckman - ala Carlton and Kruezer/Jacobs.
The Tiges look to be turning to youth too. I think he might need to carve in the magoos to get a recall.

not the best rucking pair to be comparing any1 too will be good in a few years, but dont really compare to any decent rucks/ruck combos.
i have confidence he'll be back soon. might be a carrying an injury (who knows)

@ Kenzie101 - its not about decent rucking combos, its about working with what you have. I used Carlton as an example of how to get the best out of two decent/average players. Its working decently for them, although they will get smashed by the big ruck combos (same as Simmonds would).
Richmond can emulate this with Patto/Graham, and its a good chance to see what Graham has incase they want to offload to GC next year. He is pretty young, so might given the No.1 role for a while. YMMV though.

Ahhhh i know what you are saying but with wallace's head on the chopping block do you think they can afford to drop simmonds, surely they would be better off with simmonds playing badley ( depends how bad) than a rookie.
does any1 know what happened to Hampton is he in the mix soon or is he injured?
Dropping established players is Wallaces way of (IMO) showing the board/members that he is willing to be pro-active and try a few different things in order to be successful again. They certainly arent winning any games at the moment, no harm no foul.

I've had some early poor luck..such as raines,burgoyne,nathan brown,choosing a few of the poor early performing premiums. All this has made me change my focus from overall position to winning my league.
So i just benched brown and put mitch brown from the eagles on the field.
Trades are what win the league competitions..
I think he could be out for a while. Just a feeling I have which accords with the extended breaks Wallace gives his 'stars' when dropped (surely there is more to this groin thing).
I think I'm going to go against all my instincts and trade him for Riewoldt... Touch Wood it will be my only S/W trade for the year (excluding LTI) and with my team progressing nicely, I think i can afford it at this stage (I don't give a stuff about winning leagues, I want the comp!)

It would be a waste of a trade IMO to get rid of him. He has by no means been the worst performing forward premium this year. Two decent games and two stinkers. Have some faith in him. Fingers crossed this (apparent) groin injury is not too bad
I will be keeping him. I think the tigers will be able to turn this form around. Once they do i feel that his DT scores will improve. Thats just my opinion though. Who knows what the tigers will do this year.
Wallace has said Brown will miss 2 games. On the Age website.
