he played out the whole game did he not? a broken thumb you would know about i would have thought. Hopefully larkins got it wrong, but if not - step up to the plate beams.

Just a thumb anyway, if true, htfu and put on a glove and score me 130

Supposedly no break to Gibbs' thumb.

Gibbs clear, Fev improving

BRENDAN Fevola's heel is slowing improving and Carlton fans can also relax about Bryce Gibbs – he doesn't have a broken thumb.

The Blues' midfielder was seen clutching a thumb during his team's heart-breaking loss to Essendon on Saturday night but Carlton footy manager Steven Icke says the young star has been cleared of a fracture.

"Bryce is fine, we'd expect Bryce to play [against the Swans this week]" Icke told afl.com.au on Monday.

"He sprained his thumb but he'll get it strapped up and play. He's had it x-rayed and there's no break."

Gibbs was relatively subdued throughout the Blues' four-point loss to the Bombers on a night when Brett Ratten's side was left to rue some wasted chances in front of goal.
