Yeah Bowden too risky IMO, who are you trading out?

I'm looking at similiar options for Cornes who i will be trading because of Drummonds injury. I was also looking at Mundy who is underpriced at the moment.

Edit: As I'm looking at Bowden know he's becoming even more tempting.
I'll be trading out Houlihan, I'm sick of his rubbish.
Yeah his scoring potential is very good but it's his certainty in the team I'm worried about.
Team will be pretty much set with just Muston to be upgraded.

I have been waiting for weeks for Bartel to come down in price, and now it seems that he is potentially at his lowest $444 k, i had planned on picking him up for Rich after freeing up $ from Otten > Muston.

The thing is my team is a couple of players short of being complete, Rich / Sidebottom / Coughlan being the only players to upgrade.

What i was thinking is Mabye we are looking at Bartel with ''blinkers'' on, thinking that he has to be a lock on every team for the run home.

Yes he is cheap, but im seriously thinking about Dal Santo, at $366k averaging 105, another good game this weekend.

Would enable me to pick up another premium for either Cogs, or Sidebottom in a few weeks.

Is the extra $80,000 worth Bartell, or with people having 6-8 ave trades left remaining, is the cash and a player such as NDS a better option?

Will be thinking alot about this one all week. The other thing to consider is St Kilda have a good run home.

Then again Jimmy would be good to have with Gaz there already... Some big decisons for people to make over the next few weeks, with teams nearly being complete and trades running thin.

Fantastic post that sums up the predicament for alot of us. That 80k might come in very handy for me to upgrade grimes if need be.

Tough to know what to do this week. I want to get Bartel, but I need to do something about that spud Malceski. If Cheney gets named again I can probably just sub him in for The Eski (outscored 69 to 11 this week), and get rid of him the following week, but I'd rather just **** him off now.

didak looks great value. averaged mid 90's last year, and everything you want in a dt'er, kicking ratio, plenty of marks and goals.

franklin at 300k would be tempting as well. i already have him though.

I was thinking Didak, but I already have Sidebum, Dick, and Anthony all from Collingwood in my forward line. If Collingwood as a whole get smashed/a bad game im in serious trouble. With Franklin, I already have Roughhead so once again bit wary of putting too many eggs in one basket. Thanks for the ideas.

Hmm. I have these cashcows to get rid of:

Broughton
Sidebottom
Hartlett
Raines

and two premiums to bring in (midfield, backline). Currently have 25k in the bank, looking to bring in Bartel in the next few weeks. Only problem is that Sidebottom, Broughton and Hartlett haven't peaked and Raines will probably be my last upgrade to Hodge/Ellis. I also have Cornes to worry about

Will require some thought

broughton no were near peaked. i think his break even might still be neagtive. dont get rid of him yet. i think it might be time to ditch raines.

players left to be upgraded in my team, broughtan, zaha, walker.
i have 195k and 7 trades, yeah i know im little thin on trades. and two weeks ago i traded higgens and rich, which is pretty annoying. higgens to mcglynn and rich to scott thompson.

i want to upgrade zaha first,

my mids currently are
ablett
kornes
swan
thompson
corey
? bartel/stanton/NDS/cross

should i go ABC and swan which is pretty potent, or go for someone else? i dont know. hmm help apreciated

Didak has everything you want in a DTer - off field problems, getting over an injury and only ever averaged over 90 for a year once..... great pick

I am making some big trades this week. Got $161,300 in the bank.

This week:
Cornes > Lockyer
Zeiball > Didak

Next week:
Suban > Rookie
Walker > ?

Hmmm.
Trying to get Houlihan and Grimes out for some bigger fish.
Thinking Houlihan>Bowden this week and Grimes>Hodge next week, which needs Grimes to get over 74 and Hodge to get under 92. Little bit risky.
My question is:
Bowden, Gilbee or Fisher?

Kind of a situation I'm currently in.

I don't have many trades left, but only have 3 players (Rich, Ziebell and Muston) on the field that need upgrading. I have $300k so no more downgrades needed, and I think I'll have to keep Rich as my 6th mid.

Thinking of going:

1.
In: Bartel, Didak
Out: Robinson, Ziebell

Would leave Warren and Hentschel on the bench in the forwardline, so injured backups which wouldn't be great... Shift Muston to the bench and keep Rich on field - only rookie.

Or...

2.
In: Thompson/NDS, Didak
Out: Robinson, Warren

Would leave me with Ziebell on the bench with Hentschel, and again, Muston would be shifted to the bench with Rich on field.

Obviously the money is not an issue, but really comes down to whether getting Bartel is worth an injured bench, or just go for a cheaper option and have a reliable bench. Lots to consider.

Oh... and not getting Bartel would mean I don't have one of Ablett, Bartel or Corey... but I would have a full backline and forwardline of keepers.
Any thoughts on the above?

I can afford any Didak and any midfielder under $387k for Robinson and Warren (keep Ziebell on bench).

Or... Trade Ziebell for Didak and can get Bartel for Robinson.

Actually, fall $3k short of Bartel!

I think i'll go Bowden. It's a big risk, big reward situation. If he can outscore Lockyer for the rest of the year it would chuck me into contention for the car although that seems highly unlikely.

Yeah I'm thining Bowden as well, chances are I'll change my mind 5 times this week though. Ranked around 500.

Interesting to note we are currently playing Rance, Thursfield and McGuane all accountable backmen. Moore has been playing foward for some reason but wil be interesting to see what Jade does with him. Same goes for Bowden but I probably see him playing a bit less accountable with those other guys taking the defensive roles. Then again Bowden could well get dropped within a couple of weeks.

Yeah I will be changing my mind a lot as well don't worry.

Has Bowden really been playing that bad though?
I mean from what I hav seen hasn't been doing terrible but like many tiger players, hasn't been in the best of form.

Ok, so I have a few ideas this week. With Drummond and Cornes out I figure I need to trade one of them, most likely Cornes. 7 trades left, 55k in bank. Due to low trades I am going to have to settle with Grimes as a 7th mid and Hartlett/Muston as a 6th mid leaving me with 5 trades for late injuries.

Option 1:
Cornes>Enright(although I do want to stay away from him because he is playing second week of the split round)

Monfries>Franklin

Option 2:
Cornes>Newman or Mundy(again 2nd week of split round)

Monfries>JBrown

Option 3:
Cornes>Newman or Mundy

Wait for Pav to drop a bit and hopefully be able to afford him. As long as Monfries holds his price and Pav(BE of 145) drops to around 366k, then I can afford him.

Option 4:
Do nothing. Hope Cheney plays so I don't cop any zeros (second half of split round again), ride out Monfries for a little longer, he is playing against Melbourne.

Obviously I will wait to hear the word on Drummond and Cornes. You never know, with Cornes, Drummond and the split round they could make miraculous recoveries.

He has been playing well IMO, easily in our best 22. But our best 22 doesn't really matter anymore, so the age factor comes into it. If we were a finals contender Bowden would probably be an automatic selection at this stage.
