Option 1
Rich > Ablett
Have a bit of cash left over for later upgrades

Option 2
Rich > Dal Santo
Ziebell > any forward under 430k

As amazing as Ablett is, I'm thinking option 2 would be better for my team overall. Do I dare pass up my chance to bring in the bald magician?

My trading will depend alot on who is named (obviously).

My plan was to go Zeibell to Didak and Chornes to Enright (still thinking about that one).

But with Warren out, Nahas a maybe, and Sidebottom possibly getting axed, i will have to wait and see.

These two trades will for the most part complete my team.
Why would sidey gett dropped i didnt watch the game did he play bad he scored alright DT wise.

Ablett is at the core of DT.

Everybody else gets 310 points for him with a (C).

Where does it leave you? :(

As you can see I'm not happy to miss out.

Didnt pick up Sidey for that reason, were always lots of collingwood mids to come back in from injury. I forsee the teamsheet this week will look something like
Out: SideBottom
In: Medhurst

I've got a big trade week this week. 9 trades left and ~280k in the bank. Looking to upgrade a mid and a fwd. My options are looking like bringing in...

1) Bartel and Didak

or

2) Riewoldt and DalSanto/Stanton

My initial thought was Warren to Didak.

However, I can also do Ziebell -> Didak and Rich -> Dal Santo.

Is it worth pulling the trigger on the latter and not waiting to get Bartel?

Anyone?

If you have Swan and Ablett, Bartel may well be passable.

I've got those two.

If Hodge averages 90 from now on, Riewoldt 102 and M Brown his current average, I can sort out my team by getting NDS with 6k left in the bank (TS), and 5 trades for LTIs.

That leaves Coughlan and Grimes as keepers though.

Ok now I'm stuffed big time. I only have 7 trades left and with Chad injured and Ryder suspended, I either have to play both Suban and Rance this week or trade in Chad for someone and still play 1 rookie. There is absolutely no chance of me trading in Ryder.

Broughton to Hodge or Sidebottom to Didak?

Any views?

Why would you trade Broughton to Hodge when Hodge has a BE above 100, Broughton has a low BE, Broughton has been performing consistently, and Hodge is just coming back from a layoff with no assurances as to his role? The least you can do is wait another week for Hodge's price to fall, Broughton's to rise, and yourself to get some more information about how Hodge is going (not to mention there are a gazillion other good cheap options in the backs).

As for Sidey to Didak, Didak is in prime territory but Sidey still has room to move. Your call on that one - who do you think will appreciate more in the next 2 weeks, and will Sidey's appreciation make up for the points you lose by not pulling the trigger? Can you wait 2 weeks and do Sidey to SJ?

My current forward line is as follows:

Chapman, Pavlich, Deledio, Franklin, Giansiracusa, Ziebell and Sidebottom. With M. Brown and W. Thompson as emergencies.

I'm looking at getting in Didak this week, however I'm not sure who to trade out out of Ziebell, Sidebottom and M. Brown.

M. Brown has good job security and will be the perfect emergency coming to finals, Sidebottom still has a lot of room to move money wise but does not have the job security which M. Brown offers.

Also considering bring Ellis in for Suban this week.

Thoughts?

Current Side:

B: Goddard, Adcock, Geary, Houlihan, Hodge, Grimes, Ellis (Suban, Cheney)
M: Swan, Gibbs, Ablett, K.Cornes, Foley, Muston (Coughlan, Hartlett)
R: Cox, McIntosh (Jacobs, Spencer)
F: S.Johnson, N.Riewoldt, Pavlich, Deledio, J.Brown, Higgins, Skipworth (Ballantyne, M.Brown)

Got ~193k in the bank, but can just do the following trades...

Skipworth -> Didak
Foley -> Bartel (Slightly sideways, but it is an upgrade on Foleys avg of ~90)

Leaves me needing to upgrade one of Coughlan/Muston/Hartlett and perhaps one of my lower scoring backs, but tbh the backs apart from Goddard are fairly weak scoring wise this season. The only one perhaps I should target is Lockyer.

Thoughts?

I have enough money in the bank to do either of

1.
Coughlan --> Ablett

or

2.
Walker --> Didak
and
Coughlan --> Dal Santo

Which one would you do? Considering I already have Swan/Cox as my captains but don't have Bartel.

Just some thoughts. Skipworth has more money to make.

What about;
Cogs -> Bartel
Hartlett -> Swift (could be one of those rookies who hits their straps on their third game ala Whitecross, he has the stat whore background, good form in WAFL, played geelong last week)

Then in a couple of weeks time
Skippy -> SJ

------------------------------------------------------------------

Time for my question
Backs: Goddard, Enright, Hargrave, Houlihan, Hodge, Grimes, Broughton (Cornes, Cheney)
Mids: Gibbs, Selwood, Cornes, Rich, Hartlett, Muston (Tuck, Anthony)
Rucks: Cox, McIntosh (Jacobs, Spencer)
Forwards: Deledio, O'Keefe, Franklin, Higgins, Ziebell, Didak, Skipworth (Brown, Sidebottom)

10 trades, $237,500

Trade combo 1
Ziebell -> Riewoldt
Tuck -> Salopek (form is a big worry)

or
Trade combo 2
Tuck -> Bartell
Ziebell -> Ballantyne
then in a couple of weeks
Skippy -> SJ

I already have SJ, so kind of makes that option not so great :D Getting Didak in at his lowest price appeals and I don't trust Skipworth to do what he did on the weekend (ie 53 in a quarter to make his score respectable).

For you I like the 2nd option, 2 upgrade for 3 trades is better and avoiding Salopek who tends to go down injured fairly regularly. :)

Midfield: Swan, Murphy, Corey, Gibbs, Hasleby, Muston (Robinson, Hartlett)
Forwards: Deledio, SJohnson, Pavlich, Roughead, Higgins, Walker, Sidebottom (Ziebell, Hentschel)

231k in bank
9 Trades

Option 1
This Rd:
Robinson > Bartel

Next Rd:
Walker > Ballantyne
Ziebell > Didak

Option 2
This Rd:
Hasleby > Bartel
Ziebell > Didak

Next Rd:
Walker > Ballantyne
Roughead > Riewoldt (only a maybe)

Option 3
This Rd:
Ziebell > Didak

Next Rd:
Walker > Ballantyne
Robinson > Bartel

My back line is complete so no need to worry about that. As you can see my forward line is my weakest link atm. For probbly the last 2 weeks I have had Option 1 locked in for this rd/next rd. But with Didak scoring so well and my forward line being less than impressive recently I feel the need to strengthen it.

Only problem is I wanted to get Bartel in while he is at his lowest, and with Freo coming up at Subi again he could really cut them up. With this in mind it has made me question the merits of Option 2. While this option lets me get both guys in this week it leaves me with another trade required for one of Muston/Robinson/Hartlett to complete my midfield, where as I would have left Hasleby in as my 6th mid.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers :)

Fair enough. I only have Rich, Sidebottom and Broughton to upgrade, unless I pull the pin and get rid of Raines first.

Other option is to pull the plug on Dale Thomas. Can afford to upgrade him to SJ (but no doubt best to wait a week or two for SJ). Just hasnt scored anywhere near enough. If Cheeks gets dropped for the Pies this week, I'll have no choice but to upgrade him to Dids.

@MightyIrons: Don't trade Foley. Too sideways. Why start Muston/Cogs/Hartlett over Foley? See if you can trade one of them to someone cheaper, or wait one more week at least to let Skipworth gain some more $$ and get another look at didak.

@Tubby: I like option 1 because waiting a week to see how Didak goes is a good idea because I still don't trust him. I've had him since the start, but he's only been back for two games and has scored 80 and 120. He has great scoring potential, but I can see the merit in waiting another week. You're also better off trying to keep Hase as a 6th mid.

My question:

Ok, so I have a few ideas this week. With Drummond and Cornes out I figure I need to trade one of them, most likely Cornes. 7 trades left, 55k in bank. Due to low trades I am going to have to settle with Grimes as a 7th mid and Hartlett/Muston as a 6th mid leaving me with 5 trades for late injuries.

Option 1:
Cornes>Enright(although I do want to stay away from him because he is playing second week of the split round)

Monfries>Franklin

Option 2:
Cornes>Newman or Mundy(again 2nd week of split round)

Monfries>JBrown

Option 3:
Cornes>Newman or Mundy

Wait for Pav to drop a bit and hopefully be able to afford him. As long as Monfries holds his price and Pav(BE of 145) drops to around 366k, then I can afford him.

Option 4:
Do nothing. Hope Cheney plays so I don't cop any zeros (second half of split round again), ride out Monfries for a little longer, he is playing against Melbourne.

Obviously I will wait to hear the word on Drummond and Cornes. You never know, with Cornes, Drummond and the split round they could make miraculous recoveries.

Looks like I'll go Dawson to Clancee Pearce for the cash.

I think Cheney/Broughton will go up enough to be the upgrade option later.

So I'll have somewhere around $300k and can sack Cogs for Ablett and grab Cox the next round for Mitch Clark.

Why does it matter that they are playing 2nd week of split round?

Hi guys,
In serious poo.
my team is
adcock, mundy, harding, urquhart, houlihan, suban, broughton (cornes, Wiripunda)
Gibbs, judd, selwood, vince, kornes, rich, (muston, L anthony)
Cox, Sandilands
L davis, gia, ROK, franklin, alwin davey, skipworth, sidebottom, (wiggins, m brown)

only 7 trades left 180k in bank. mixture of injuries and inexperience on my part.

just trying to win my league. sitting 5th atm.

was worried about davey and skippy but they had a decent weekend and obviously cant aford the trades.

do you think i shoud go rich > bartel this week and then sit on my team untill the finals (injuries permitting) this would give me a genuine captain and seems to be a good week for it) or do you think 6 trades would be suicide?

thanks for your advice.
