Hawks should be top four. Believe it or don't. Half a season of fielding second string players will hurt any team. We injured a lot of players winning last years grannie and it cost us at the start of this season. That's life! Couple that with poor form the second half of the year and hey presto we finish outside the 8. I don't think his if's are that unreasonable. Is it unreasonable to expect last years premiers to bounce back if they have fewer injuries and fill a couple of gaps with experienced players?

If the hawks can manage to get both gibson and burgoyne into the side plus have a good pre season and have a good run on the injury front they will be top 2 or 3 comfortably. Geelong wont want to play us next yr, plenty of redemption and revenge for the round 17 game to go along with everyone fit and firing we will touch them up i rekon.

The only IF should be if Croad is able to recover from injury (doubtful) and have impact Hawks are a top4 side capable of winning flag, IF Gibson or Gilham is sitting at fullback (likely) then Hawks are no chance, you can't wina flag without a topline fullback, look through the sides of the past 15-20 years.

but yes hawthorn's 2010 aim would be just to make top 8 and get players well and fit and playing good consistant football for 4 quarters

personally I think we can make top 4 with our list but ill have to wait to after trade period to get a true assesment.

He had a few drinks, hopped on BigFooty and went straight for the NewThread button. It's a mistake most of us have made at one time or another.

Of course the Hawks are going to be back with a vengeance in 2010. A premiership hangover, youngest list in the comp and by far the league's worst run of injuries this year, yet we almost made the finals.
Will we actually win the flag in 2010? Who knows, but I'm confident we can go close.
