Re: Round 22 Trades

One trade left and can either do:

Hodge to Broughton (otherwise have Smith from WCE on the field)

or

Cooney to Boyd (otherwise have Shuey or Harwood on the field)

Broughton is usually a safe bet, Boyd has been down a little but should get a fair bit of it playing against Essendon. Any advice?

Re: Round 22 Trades

who do people think that i should bring in for hodge, with $220,000 in the bank

Posting the rest of your backline might be handy ;)

Hodge > Broughton

I reckon Broughton & Schuey will score more than Boyd & Smith :thumbsu:

Re: Round 22 Trades

^^ Chose Kennelly over Malceski at the start of the year and regretted it up until a few weeks ago. Kennelly averaging almost 100 the last 3 weeks- Malceski around 50. On form you'd say keep Tadhg.

Re: Round 22 Trades

got a dilema

2 trades (yes I know I should not be complaining but have held on to them)

Been decimated like quite a few

PODS, JB, Hodge, Hunt all out , can cover hunt for davis, goose still out has stuffed me up

Pods, JB and gumby all out in fwd line

can do the following

1)have a donut for hodge

or trade pods and jb for chappy and boomer and have 1 emergency(watts or Hitckcock)in fwd line

or

2)trade hodge for broughton

and trade jb for chappy with no emergency in fwd line (PODs and Gumby)

(in a major gf and my opponent is in similar shite, no idea about there trades but they have Hodge, Goose ,Hunt out , Cooney out, JB and Didak out)

Thinking no 2 opt is the go

Re: Round 22 Trades

Here is part of the spreadsheet that I've made up to help with my decision. Could be handy for a few others.

Should be noted that the Ave @ ground is just over the past 2 seasons.

Johncock should be in there, but he's outta my price range. His averages are 79 vs StK and 100.3 at AAMI.

really struggling withe who to upgrade out of malcheski or kennelly. Mal has been down and tagdh has been flying recently

Keep Kennelly.

My decision (trading out Brown+Hodge):

1. Get Buddy Franklin + Sam Fisher (excellent record vs Crows/AAMI)
2. Get Steve Johnson + Brian Lake

Re: Round 22 Trades

Thank god for MPP's! Swapped Hodge from backline to Midfield with Goddard and then brought shuey off the bench to cover the hole! Phew.

Re: Round 22 Trades

Two trades left (well planned:thumbsu:) but three big outs:thumbsdown:

OUTS: Didak, Pods & Hodge

Have cover with Hitchcock on forward bench and Ash Smith in defence

Options
  1. Hodge for one of Johncock/Broughton/Kelly and use smith as emergency
  2. Didak for either Chapman, Stevie J or a Riewoldt (J or R ?) and use Hitchcock on the ground as replacement for Pods
  3. Smith on the field as replacement for Hodge
  4. Didak & Pods for two of Chapman, Stevie J & one of the Riewoldts
So two ways to go here: options 1 & 2 or options 3 & 4?

opponent has Hodge & Brown and has cover with some avg 50-70 players, also has Chapman and N Riewoldt.

Taking all things into consideration;
  • I see big win and scores for the cats
  • The Sainters travelling to (a probable wet) AAMI against the crows who showed some spirit against the Pies last week.
  • Jack Riewoldt could kick 1 or 10 this week against an uninterested Power?
  • I rate Johncock more than Broughton on the ability to have a bigger score 130+
I guess taking Chappy and Nick Riewoldt seems obvious but my opponent also has them so I will only be negating them not taking a risk to beat them?

Suggestions?

Re: Round 22 Trades

Do you have Goddard on another line than hodge (ie Goddard/Mid and hodge/back?)

Anyone?

Usually the trade thread is 10 pages long, surely some observers have some input....

SJ as we squash the Eagles and especially with Pods out he will get a bag I am sure.

Am hearing Lake might be a late withdrawal though so maybe SJ and Enright, or Broughton/Duffield/Kelly (depending on your budget) instead.

Re: Round 22 Trades

Franklin and Fisher for sure.

I'm leaning towards Johnson and Lake. Even Johnson and Fisher.

Franklin's big scores vs the Pies have always been in wins. Hodge is out, so that takes away a big chance that Franklin will get the supply which = Hawks loss. Gotta be worth a 25% hit to Franklin's averages.

Stevie J at home vs the Eagles? The line for Geelong is at 71 points. Eagles have had troubles stopping small forwards kicking goals for the last third of the season (didn't look prior to that). Pods is out, so someone needs to kick goals.

I'm a Cats supporter, and I think I'm talking myself into this trade because of it..... uggghhhhh

Any other thoughts?

Re: Round 22 Trades

1. I only have 1 trade left and will be trading out hodge. Budget isn't a problem, so really what player (either defender or midfielder) should i bring in for him. Considering i already have the likes of lake, enright, malceski, gilbee, gilbert, duffield, goddard, ablett and judd

2. Andrew Strijk or Ashley Smith - who will score more points this week

3. Kurt Tippett or Robert Warnock - who will score more points this week

Re: Round 22 Trades

Where are you hearing that?!?

I posted my reply before reading your response.

My budget only allows for me to spend $498,000 on a defender (If I go with Stevie J).... just miss Broughton which makes me sick. (Already have Enright)

So.... Lake? Kelly? Fisher?

I've got Strijk as coverage if Lake did decide to be a late w/d.

1. Maybe Kelly, Broughton or Johncock defenders or Boyd or cross mids

2. Probably Strijk..tough one

3. Tippett over Warnock..Hampson back for Blues will share ruck duties whilst both up against Sandy make it tough.

My dilemma...

1. Didak for either Boyd, Gibbs, Selwood..Already have Chappy, Ablett and Bartel

2. Who will score more....A.Smith, P. Davis, L. Shuey or J.Watts ???

Help please!!

1. Joel Selwood, Dane Swan or Montagna. Leaning towards Selwood.

2. Strijk.

3. Tippett. Warnock will cop a bath from Sandilands.

My quandary.. Brian Lake, Sam Fisher, James Kelly.

Lake has potential to score the biggest.
Fisher has great averages v Crows+AAMI.
Kelly will be in a team that will win by at least 10 goals.

Re: Round 22 Trades

Why would the Dogs put Higgins in the emergencies if he wasn't fit to play?

Expecting late change which gives some additional credit that Lake won't play. Although I have zero idea of the lineup for the Dogs as far as coverage for tall backmen goes.

Think I'm settling on Stevie J and Fisher and leaving 60k in the kitty...
