Abe Kur from Bacchus Marsh, young sudanese kid. The success of majak daw has played a part i imagine. Abe has improved out of sight since picking up a football on his first day of school last year, will only get better i guess..who knows hey?

AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
My unconfirmed info is:
Josh Huxtable
Lachlan Fairley
Courtney Hilton
Adam Kennedy
Jordan Mead.
All good if true. Huxtable deserves another go after a injury/illness riddled season, Fairley is a very good tall key defender, Hilton has finished school so will be available for more games this year, Kennedy is a gun (might go in the draft), and Mead is this years B&F. The important thing is that all these guys have a good attitude and work ethic. A much better bunch than last years.
I agree. The club will pick their 19s after draft. They have a squad of around 85 kids starting out on November 10th. Will be interesting to see how the squad goes and how they respond to some staff changes in the fitness and conditioning area.
Yeah, nothing from the 2010 squad. Another terrible year for the Jets. The jets did well in the draft.
Yes, he's been reappointed. Can anyone tell me if the Jets have re-appointed Steve in 2011?
They need a massive overhaul of their structures from 2010, very dissapointing and poorly organised.
I'm sorry to have to admit my cousin's youngest boy was one of those who didn't have the commitment. He was invited down and decided it was too much effort.
I found that dumfounding. Almost impossible to comprehend. If it had been me in that situation, I'd have been down there with bells on. The chance to make it onto an AFL list, hell the chance just to play in the best U18 comp, would have got me training as hard as I could.
I have to admit I am pretty disappointed in the Jets. According to stats postly recently in 'Inside Football', the Jets have had less players drafted than any other TAC Cup club and by a fair margin. Their only 'competition' was the Bendigo Pioneers and the Pios have a lot of issues the Jets don't. Calder have really shown the jets how it should be done. With a population and ethnic base not dissimilar, they have won premierships by the truckloads and have managed to get a lot of guys drafted. If the jets ever needed a model to follow, the Cannons are it.

Very difficult to change the culture. In other zones kids would give anything to get an invite to their local TAC Cup club, but in the West there doesnt seem to be any pride to represent the Jets and too many kids lack the commitment needed to play TAC Cup footy. It's been a problem for a long time, the current admin have failed to change it.
This is the issue. Other TAC clubs have pride, respect and prestige, the Jets have none of that. Very few get drafted from there and even less go on to have prosperous AFL careers. Most kids would be happier pocketing $50 to play in the seniors at their home clubs with their mates and guys they look up to.
Another overlooked issue is the location of the training base. Caroline Springs is a dog of a place to get to via public transport and not all of these kids have parents that are willing or able to drive them to training two or three times a week.
We will, at the mighty EFC, just been put on our rookie B list...what can people tell us about him here? You obviously read the same local papers as me, so why would you say Rayner is playing for Keilor seconds when you would know he is not even in the country? If he were to return to footy I don't think he'd be playing edfl 2nds footy. I understand he has a walk up offer with Williamstown, so perhaps we may still get to see him play at a reasonable level.
